IMO that likelihood is 100% unless he dies or is somehow incapacitated between now and Election Day. He’s said he’s running. The Democratic Party isn’t holding primaries. Their convention starts August 19. There simply isn’t enough time to plan them, have candidates decide if they want to run, organize campaigns, actually campaign, and get voters to the polls all in 8 months.

And honestly, that might be the worst thing that could happen at this point. Imagine the powers that be just having to pick a candidate from literally ALL the options at the convention because they didn’t have their voters narrow it down through primaries. Would be an absolute disaster, particularly for such a “big tent” party that is trying to appeal to so many different constituencies. Oh and by the way, all this for what is probably the most make or break election in American history.

The trainwreck that was the 1968 Democratic National Convention did Hubert Humphrey no favors. If Biden withdraws too late for a proper primary process, and it's already too late, I think we can expect similar levels of unrest at this year's convention.

We would be looking at the same toxic brew: an unpopular war in Gaza supported by elites, people feeling disenfranchised and the Chicago Police Department. I couldn't write a better script to hand an election to a lousy Republican candidate.

Remember 25 years ago when there was some amount of effort to not look like an idiot 24/7, and if you did, you were not given much attention? Nowadays, only the most idiotic comments/observation are the norm for some people. I really hate what social media has done to society.

A lot of people were always like that, internet and social media just exposed it and gave a voice to everyone.

In the end of the day doing/saying something stupid or reckless always gonna give you more attention and internet clicks than being normal.
In same way we remember from history mostly crazy or warmongering Emperors and Kings (Caligula, Nero, Henry VIII, Ivan the Terrible etc...) and almost nobody remember good ones.
