No more than I do with my ex of twenty years, and she is.

If you want to hide behind that nonsense when it comes to females and the US legal system, you are not my friend when you do it. It is horribly biased, and could care less about me getting hit.
Hey Martin.

I hear you, mate. I indicated earlier that there are many single-issue on-the-fence voters that will steer away from Harris, including many who partake in identity politics. You seem like someone who has a more nuanced version of reality and you'll hold your nose and vote for her if she's the least worst of a bad bunch. Kudos to you for that.

You're clearly smart. Being smart doesn't help you with the US justice system because it's designed to overcorrect to combat systemic misogyny when marriage and childcare are concerned, even if it's not yet playing out that way when it comes to racism or economic disparity. Hate the game not the player in that instance, I suppose. The last three years my good friend has fought for shared custody of his kids after his wife, who'd previously worked, decided she would instead be a SAHM. This led to a divorce of course, and only the fact that he is a career lawyer and malicious compliant and heavily involved in the PTA did he get his shared custody, with the downside that he still had to give her the apartment and alimony. I've seen the texts outside of the court-appointed app. I've seen how she speaks to their kids about their father and how she interacts during school events. It's not great. She's otherwise a nice person and a loving mother but has played what little she had as an advantage perfectly and he undoubtedly and understandingly feels bitter and aggrieved, and it takes what I can to only be civil, knowing what I have been privy to.

I share this just to acknowledge that despite male, or white male, or white young male, or white young male of privilege etc. doesn't mean an easy ride and doesn't mean everything works out to your advantage. I'm sorry you have been a victim of an unjust and inequitable system that doesn't actually care about judgement without bias and leans far too much on stereotypes. Domestic abuse is notoriously poorly handled because of burdens of proof and societal expectations that are shifting too slowly towards an unbiased human-centred approach.

I am glad to see that, despite all things, you recognise that literally anyone would be better than Trump for a multitude of reasons. I, like you, also wish all politicians were the bastion of virtue and quality, with only others best interests at heart. Maybe one day we'll see a candidate who can get ahead, stay ahead, and not be corrupted by the money, lobbyists, upbringing, surrounding poison culture and need to pander to "base" of single issue or uneducated or uncaring voters.

I hope you find peace, brother.

I'm still waiting to see even a shred of evidence that suggests Mrs Harris is an abuser.

trump lunatics aren't happy that Biden has stepped down, it's unfair that they have spent most of their funds on a smear campaign against Biden and now they have to spend all over again. are we at the bottom of the barrel yet?
Yep, constantly telling the world he is not fit to be POTUS, then, when he is forced to step down, cry that he has done so.

Watching Harris' Milwaukee campaign event.
Night and day between her and Biden in terms of public speaking.

Started with the Trump comments she's come out with in previous publicity events about her prosecuting people just like him in the past.
Quickly switched to mentioning his dealings with rich oil tycoons and then pushed the rest of her talk towards things like affordable health care, better working regulations (Holidays, unions etc.) for the working class/Middle class and then to womens rights and the potential effect of Project 2025.

It's a smart demographic to aim for. People who aren't engrossed with the culture wars, or Trumpist conspiracy theories are worried about the economy and especially things like working conditions and living costs.

I think a lot of Republicans were hoping that Biden stepping down would send the Democrats into disarray and I think they are now angry that the opposite seems to have happened. The ongoing questions over Bidens health and fitness to run I think has been a bit of a burden and him stepping aside seems to have rejuvenated the support base somewhat.

It's probably still going to be an uncomfortable close run I reckon, her new nominee shine (if she does indeed get the nod) will wear off in time, so she probably needs to be on her A game throughout and balance calling Trump out without stooping to his level and continue to get the unsure voters onside.

Skip to around 46 mins for the speech.
