This is the correct decision, I think - on both fronts.

There isn't an alternative candidate for President and it now allows them to go after Trump's age. I would expect now that Trump will refuse to take part in any further debates as well.

The VP pick is crucial though, it has to be a white male veteran from a relevant state - someone like Jason Crow.

Really? Only a week ago Trump spat out a bullet and walked off stage triumphantly on national television. Trump's age will not be a meaningful issue the rest of this campaign even if Dems try to make it one. The Dem campaign will be abortion, abortion, abortion if, as likely, Harris is the nominee.

Oh, I have little doubt media and Dems will talk about it. I said so in my post that they may still make age and issue. It's a dead end issue though. Trump's age will not have an impact on the outcome of the race.
