Let me rephrase

If she were to overcome the two obstacles i mentioned, she would need to be extremely charasmatic and popular.

She's not.

So as a tiebreaker, she has none of those "popular" qualities that Michelle has. Although Michelle also has zero experience as a legislator or politician. Kamala, like her or not, at least has experience "doing politics".

This ain’t a loaded question, rather a person from across the pond wondering, why can’t she?

Some are pointing to race and gender. I disagree. She’s just unlikeable and when you dig into her actual record, it’s not great. She also speaks to adults like they’re 5 years old and sometimes just talks wham. I’d vote for her over Biden but only because I’d have to and I trust that she can actually think.

Maybe. She would absolutely pull more black votes than Harris, but not convinced the US will vote for a women president.

Agree Harris' personality is a large mark against as well, but gender and race are still huge.

I fully believe if you take those weaknesses you mention that she has and place them into a 55 year old white male vs Trump, that 55 year old would win in a landslide. Because people want an adult and despite his supporters being the loudest I do believe that 60% of people in this country abhor Trump.

But put these weaknesses in a female black person, and it affects the margins

Kamala can actually speak and put coherent sentences together

Something that neither Biden nor Trump can say

Being female and of non-white ethnicity does obscure that background a bit, so I think she would do better than the hypothetical in that respect.

Personally, I think she'd probably beat him provided the old playbook of Trump as would-be dictator, smashing usual norms, cheating on wife and not paying taxes and so on was discarded and instead they just spent all the time talking about how old, slow and probably impotent he is.

People just live for the 15 second soundbite, but Kamala has literally been the VP for 4 years. There is so much that goes on in that role, discussions she's in, etc, etc, that people cannot comprehend. She absolutely can do the job. But it's a popularity contest now

I know, but why would she be a good leader for the most powerful state in the world at a time of apparent crisis? She has no experience of leading anything, doing anything or being anything (other than First Lady) that might prepare her for it. It brings to mind the Praetorian Guard looking around for members of the Julian family to be emperor after Caligula had been murdered.

I really don't think he did - having Hilary as an opponent did far more than the emails (which lets be fair was a scandal that was absolutely worthy of bringing up) did.

Those are tiebreaking factors given she's unlikeable. More so than Hillary perhaps. And people vote on emotion.

She has more qualifications than Trump (although that doesn't necessarily say anything).

But how anyone can dislike anyone more than they dislike Trump still boggles my mind. So who knows. I mean I couldn't imagine playing 3 golf holes with that guy.
