Another positive jobs report for Biden with 272k jobs added, far beyond predictions, inflation down to lowest levels since 21. The Biden economy is strong and that can't be denyed by any sensible evaluation.

I'm personally not of the opinion we should be fetishizing ideologies of infinite growth in a world of finite resources, nor should we represent economies with a linear relationship with incumbant presidents, but these are the metrics the right wing and republicans insist upon.

His fans racist concept that black voters will see his felony as appealing to them is also not materilising

This can't be the case, can it?

There are three persistent problems. One is that if the cycle of persistent growth falters, all kinds of bad things start happening. Pension obligations and retirement savings are funded by that cycle, and when contractions happen there, the rest tends to follow.

The second is that the media is largely comprised of people with journalism degrees, who are banging rocks together when it comes to reporting on the economy. Of course, even good economic reporting has to be done in long form, and TV news is not good at that. One positive outgrowth of news from sources like Youtube is that at least the information is out there in the form most people seem to prefer, and from people who know their stuff.

The third is that people in this country do not understand that the president generally has 100% of jack-squat to do with the economy, but vote on this dimension anyway. Reagan deserved to claim credit for Volcker's results, but that was something of a special case. What got him re-elected was also the result of a bubble his SEC did nothing about, until it was far too late. In a supreme irony, the fallout from that doomed his successor.

I think it's better to go back to the days of Trump tanking the economy. You know, teach the wokes a lesson

"Hires the best people".

I had a lot of issues with the people he hired. However, bad as many of them were, there were lines that even they would not cross and they ended up saying “no more, I can’t support this”.

I fear in a second term the picks will have even lower barriers for what they deem “unacceptable”.
Agreed. I don't think second term there will be any barriers

If you believe the Biden DOJ has been weaponized and the President's son has now been convicted of a crime you'd typically find a violation of Second Amendment rights, you might be a MAGA going through some emotions today.

The Biden DoJ let the statute of limitations run out for Hunter on charges of bribery, tax evasion and FARA. These are the most serious charges Hunter Biden could have faced. Charges that could have brought his father into the case. The DoJ were all too happy to play slowball to let Hunter off the hook.

They were going to let ALL charges slide (a deal was reached between the Joe Biden DoJ and the Hunter Biden defense team) until a single judge overruled a cushy plea agreement for Hunter. Only then was there a prosecution on the lamest of charges, a measly gun charge.

Oh wow, this is BIG.

After reading this, I can assure you now, I would not vote for Hunter Biden.

He still is facing charges on tax evasion.

Hunter Biden still faces federal tax charges this year

This isn't the end of Hunter Biden's legal dilemmas - in September, he'll face a trial on charges of failing to pay $1.4m (£1.1m) in federal income taxes.
The president's son pleaded not guilty in January to tax offences in a California federal court.
He was indicted in December 2023 on nine criminal counts, including for failing to pay his taxes on time from 2016 to 2019, filing false tax returns in 2018 and tax evasion.
If convicted on these charges, Hunter Biden could face up to 17 years in prison. Read more here.

Thanks for the clarification. However, the statute of limitations WAS allowed to run out on Hunter Biden's earlier tax evasion, years 2014 and 2015 to be precise. Still, most of the charges Hunter(and by extension his father potentially drawn into) could have faced were allowed to run out. Personally, I won't celebrate or cheer a guilty verdict on gun charges. All rather meagre stuff.

Go on, you celebrate. Enjoy yourself.
