A lot is being made of this by foreign media.
It needs to be taken in context.

These are older reports.
Le Pen has made clear her current opinion of Putaine.
Association with Putin has tarnished many a person after the Russian atrocities in Ukraine. Putin, his regime and anyone still enabling him after the invasion will not escape censure.

I would not consider myself a Le Pennite but she has made the wise choice by distancing herself from anything to do with Putin.

It shows the direction the British media and public look.
Just 7 pages on this thread mainly from half a dozen contributors.
5 threads on US matters, hundreds of pages. ?
I think there’s quite a few other mitigating factors for that including the amount of US posters on here and how insane the US elections was but it does have some truth to it.
Its looking like another election between a far right loon and an uninspiring centre right candidate who will win by default. Worrying times.

Media seem obsessed by the 3 I of the so called far right.Islam, immigration. Intégration.
The people are far more concerned by the erosion of public services and the soaring cost of living. Macron is no centrist he's a right wing free market capitalist following financial policies similar to the UK.
These are not popular but moderates are nervous of the racist implications of the Zemmour le pen type suggestions

See this kind of choice in so many places. It’s just putting a sticking plaster on the right wing racists instead of tackling root causes.
I really fear for global future
