I love his politics but I hate the way he held on too long and refused to compromise and build something that might have a chance of winning.
make no mistake, above anything else, Sanders wants to be president.

like Biden in compromising with the left mainly Bernie voters.

Biden doesn’t have to compromise with the left, he’s wiping the floor with Sanders.
sanders hasn’t secured endorsements from any of the other candidates.
Sanders also outlined that his VP pick would be another progressive.
he’s a liability to the progressive movement at this point.

theyre not even coming out for sanders this year
biden will run up the numbers in the suburbs, with the black vote, and with the working class who are sick of trump.

Sanders only chance was everyone staying in the race.

Heck, Boris could win the democratic party nomination by schmoozing up to big business and pretending to care about social issues. Its not a liberal party, its the party of 1960-80s northern republicians (Rockefeller, Mitt Romney's dad). The party's home base is the northeast and west coast, states that rake in money, its the party of amazon, tech companies, pharma etc. There is a liberal wing to the party but it is small.

All true but there is the appetite there for a progressive candidate. By running on the democratic platform but then shunning the party, sanders gave himself no chance.
this was all well and good in 16 when he used the platform to promote his ideas but this time round he should have worked with them, not fought against them.
Anyhoo, here’s hoping Biden picks a progressive runningmate.

Oh they all stayed at home did they? I wonder where Bernie got his delicates from.

Same place he got them in 16 but in far less numbers. The youngest voters didn’t turn out in the numbers he needed.

You’re missing my point Biden could do with some of them votes going after trump or else you can be Hillary 2.0and be over confident. Except hilllary has Biden beat on every metric this time last race so maybe not so much Hillary 2.0

Protest votes won 2010, 2012 (besides Obama), 2014, and 2016 for Republicans. 2018 was also a protest vote for Democrats bigger than expected. I suspect that 2020 will also be a protest vote. The margins in key states were so close in 2016. The response/impact of Covid-19 could very well sway those few thousand people. Deeply blue and red states have continued to pull apart into their corners.

Sadly I can see a scenario where Trump wins a second term while losing the popular vote by close to 10 million.

Our founders never wanted minority rules. They wanted to ensure a king would never rule.

Take a look at the bluest states, sure there is an occasional liberal like AOC in the house but most of them are Obama/Hillary centrists. And they wipe the floor w/ a liberal challenger in a primary. There is a liberal wing but they are really really marginalized right now.

Bernie's only chance was the majority of the people running staying in past super tuesday and even if Bernie survived that, Obama would have hit the campaign trail and endorsed Biden (or if Biden was toast) the challenger in the best position.

yea, there are very few liberal candidates, but I think there is definitely an appetite for progressive politics.
At local level, at least here in MA there is a ground swell of liberal progressive politicians. Many inspired by Bernie in 16.
And with the way this crisis is unfolding, moderates won't consider left wing ideas as fringe nonsense. Now we need Bernie and his acolytes to work with the party, not fight against it. We also need RCV.

Judges ruled 4-2 along ideological lines that Evers does not have the power as governor to unilaterally postpone the election, despite the fact that the state has a stay-at-home order in place due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The backdrop: Wisconsin's Republican-controlled legislature rejected Evers' call to delay the primary during a special session on Saturday, arguing that such a late postponement would cause confusion and leave open municipal positions that will be vacated this month.
