Are you basing this on his public statements during the campaign or something more involved? My mother-in-law, a former speech therapist, maintains that he seems like a septuagenarian with a chronic speech impediment (i.e., his stutter), which he is. That (along with the knowledge that she voted for Sanders in the MA primary) eased my concerns a fair bit about the potential cognitive decline behind Biden's mouthful of curiosities.

I'm more concerned about Trump and Sanders. The former's maintained bad habits over the long term and doesn't seem the sort to reform, and the latter had a heart attack a few months ago and is newly reluctant to disclose his medical records. I haven't heard about any chronic ailments with Biden beyond his tendency to trip over his mouth. But I'm unable to diagnose from a remote location so who knows.
I agree that his stutter is an important factor but for me it is less his getting the words right than the meandering. He was always prone to it but, at least to me, it seems worse and he used to be much sharper at responses. This article covers some of my worries

I agree about Sanders and Trump‘s issues though - I basically just can’t get comfortable with the idea that our presidential choice comes down three septuagenarians but I guess I’m going to have to.

If Bernie loses the nomination to Biden, I think I'd actually prefer Trump to win a second term. Between him and Biden, I think the orange man's mental faculties haven't yet deteriorated quite as seriously. Man, if it's those two who are battling it out, the debates are going to be both sad and hilarious.
You’re obviously not a woman or any part of the LGBT community if you’d rather see Trump get another four years over any of the Democrats. Even one more Supreme Court appointment for Trump will be devastating to those people’s basic rights in the coming decades.

Also, I’ll add this regarding any mental decline of either Biden or Trump. At this point in time, and going forward, which of the two men do you have more trust in to surround themselves with competent people to pick up any slack if they were to become unable to perform their presidential duties? As wonderful as a Don Jr./Ivanka puppet regime sounds, I think I’ll have to pass.

well won't be surprised if biden wins 5 or all 6 states today.. its a shame should of been a 1 on 1 debate before this weeks voting .

He is great and has the right idea on how things should be, he always has from when he was mayor of Burlington.
For me, this makes his approach all the more frustrating.
Running against the democratic establishment is counter productive and, at this point, damaging to the progressive movement.
What he did in 2016 was remarkable but once he accomplished that, he should have started working with the democrats.
His cherry picking of the democratic establishment is beginning to wear thin.
His share of the vote in Vermont went from 80% in 2016 to 50% in 2020.
He has failed to mobilize the youth voice.
His insistence on running against the democratic party and not with it will leave us with Biden at best and Trump at worst.
It's so frustrating.

this carry on is head wrecking. How does he expect to get anywhere.

As for slamming Biden about the Iraq war, yes he did vote for it, a decision I'm sure he regrets but his son fought in it. He knows more than most senators, the cost of Iraq. There's no point screaming at him in public and saying Trump would be better suited.
Now I'll have that CCR song stuck in my head (except Beau was a senators son).

mate what are you on? none of the sanders supporters here stated that they would prefer Trump rather than Biden. Most of us are not even Americans haha

The issue here though is that it assumes the Democratic establishment wants to work with him, or other progressives / socialists.

There’s not a lot of evidence they do, or would, or even that they don’t consider them to be enemies (based on the way Sanders support is regularly stereotyped, belittled and slandered) to a greater degree than the GOP are.
