again, i agree, but NOW shouldn't all Warren voters try to convince their friends and relatives for voting Sanders? Why do you still feel some grudge against Sanders? It is over for Warren, I really LIKE her, very decent person and cares about details like myself in my personal life. but it is now either Biden or Sanders. And I know whose ideas were much closer to Warren's.
I agree, most people I know have already voted, and to be honest, right now, it's not easy to just turn around and say 'forget about the bile and sexism, his policies are the same'.
Also, this primary season has thought me a lot about peoples perceptions of how healthcare for all might work.
For me Sanders plan, as it stands, will not win over independents or moderate republicans who hate Trump.
He was relying on a huge youth turnout so that he didn't have to appeal to the middle ground and that turnout didn't turn out.
I'm also concerned that his base won't vote down ballot as much as is needed.
Then there's Biden.
I have no time for his politics but I was impressed at how he drew together a coalition and rode the momentum to a victory on super Tuesday.
His voters will vote down ballot as seen in 2018 when mostly moderate democrats swept the boards and saved us from a GOP house which would have been a disaster.
He can win in Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and maybe Florida, NC and Arizona. He has a genuine shot at beating Trump and even taking the Senate.
Is he a gaffe prone relic, sure, but he knows the party is leaning progressive and with control of both houses, the Democrats could actually start to get stuff done.
If Trump gets re-elected, he gets 2 more supreme court picks and this country changes for ever.
So we need to work for better healthcare and a green new deal but if the Democrats control both houses we can start to make progress.
In short. I like Sanders's politics but I don't think he can win and I dislike Bidens politics but I think he can win. For the sake of the country, the democrats need to win this more than anything.
