Democrats send a centrist again to beat Trump, just like in 2016. They thought it was down to gender four years ago, I really hope that was the case and Biden crashes Trump. But if they fail once again and it becomes evident that it was not about sexist approach in Clinton's case, hopefully they pick a progressive candidate come 2024 (obv a younger version of Sanders/Warren), this November will show us if it was about ideological dullnessness of Democratic establishment or Hillary being a woman.

As for our old pal Bernie, he may even be dead (wishing him health and all) in four years so it was now or never for him.

It's not like those were the only two factors in play in 2016 tbf

Aye, boiling things down in hindsight is all well and good, but nobody has any kind of clue what will happen before the election, and what conditions the election will occur in. The idea that Hillary lost only because she is a woman is obvs not the case

Agreed - it’s one of about 5 reasons, without ANY ONE of which the result would have been different, given the razor thin margin

I reckon it's fairly low down on the list of reasons, Hillary had a lot of shortcomings.

Though it's hard to explain Warren's lack of support any other way, I think she is fantastic
I think the Warren situation shows that it was probably a pretty chunky consideration with Hillary too. Almost certainly enough to shift the sliver of votes she lost by. As were multiple other reasons.

Same old Democrat party same mistakes as 2016biden will fall in November

I’ve got friends in the states who were voting yesterday who I’ve always considered Bernie fans but seemed conflicted who to vote for . I think they were concerned about his overall electability and warren might have been more ‘moderate ‘ . I know they are far from delighted with Biden winning though . When he first came into the race I could maybe see the appeal of Biden but the more he speaks surely the worse it is . Hard to look passed trump at the minute

Meanwhile a lot of erstwhile Warren supporters would appear to have gone for Biden as well. Her numbers weren't looking great going in but she got smoked all over the map. And here I was concerned that Sanders would beat Warren in Massachusetts, but Biden beat them both.

It pains me to consider that when we finally get a woman president I won't even be able to vote for her because it'll be Nikki Haley.

And that pisses me off. Vote for who YOU want to be President in the primaries and then vote for whoever it winds up being. "Electability" concerns went out the damn window when Trump got the nomination for the GOP much less won.

He's terrible trump will be 5-10 points ahead and win in landslide vs Biden . It's just the media scaring public on Bernie FFS Biden even confused his wife and sister on stage then called himself Joe's husband lol... The man is losing it.
