I don't think they are delusional.
The healthcare system is beyond a joke in this country. Obamacare has helped the very poor but done nothing for the working and middle classes.
People are fed up and Sanders sold them a dream. It's become core to their movement so when Warren moderated her stance on that dream, you know, to make it actually workable, she was vilified by Sanders's base.
When ever I talk to any Sanders supporter, they have no idea that every country Sanders mentions in his constant comparisons has private health insurance.
They have no idea how he plans to set up a publicly funded private hospital system while ending an industry that employs 2 million people.
Hartford Connecticut would shut down in the morning but he has no solution for that.
In short, I don't think they are delusional, just desperate for a new way and not willing to consider that the way they've chosen might not be the best or even possible.
