There is zero chance of that happening now though - nobody is paying her tens of millions of dollars after finishing 3rd, 4th, 4th, and 5th, just to drop out three days later.





Everyone is tribal now, right, left, and centre - it's just that the latter struggles to recognise these characteristics in themselves, not least because billions of dollars are spent every year reinforcing the notion that their cultural and political preferences are objective, neutral, moderate, apolitical, even-handed, rational, and above the partisan fray.

Take for example the Bernie Bro idea (which actually originated as a co-ordinated stunt by the Clinton campaign against Obama). While Sanders' supporters have undoubtedly said vile things online, so too have the supporters of every other candidate - though for some mysterious reason, none of these have been Breaking News on CNN centered around a meme with a mighty 13 likes, the same as, for example, this classic from the #khive (which, incidentally, seems a natural home for @sdk, given his unconventional proclivities). It really doesn't take much critical thinking to understand why a network which recently likened Sanders to the Coronavirus has decided to essentially invent this narrative.

And this reflects the real difference between those who support Sanders and those who support everyone else - not tribalism and snarky comments online (which are both universal), but first, different political values; second, a lower tolerance for dishonest and hypocrisy (as Liz Warren's recent disgraces have made very clear); and third, a lack of naivety and illusions on what the Democratic Party actually is, how it actually works, who it actually represents, and how its narratives and consensus are created and reinforced.

Whereas other candidates' supporters tend to actually like the Democratic Party, Sanders supporters tend to understand it - and that's neither tribalism nor a wind-up, it's the truth.

Your lack of self awareness and level of arrogance is truly astonishing. You keep repeating your slights over and over, whether they’ve already been knocked down or not, targeting whichever candidate or group of supporters have displeased you on a given day in not laying down to provide a procession to the nomination for YOUR chosen candidate. Your similarity to a Trump supporter really is striking.

This very thread disproves your point that “all sides abuse the other candidates in the same way”. Hmmm, “all as bad as each other”... that message sounds familiar...

You act like your side are the only ones who are “informed” but base this solely on picking and choosing your preferred sources of information (the same way everyone else in the world does) yet repeatedly ignore anyone’s points that you don’t like. You impugn the knowledge and intelligence of others while simultaneously criticising them for being “elite” and “over educated”. Hmmm... who else does this?

If Bernie wins the nomination, I desperately hope you’re right and that he beats Trump. But make no mistake - the likes of you (en mass, rather than individually) will make it much more difficult for him.

All across the nation Republicans are waking back up to their unquenchable rage over Hunter Biden's Cavalcade of Corruption, having somehow forgotten all about it since Sanders became the demonstrable Dem frontrunner.

I want Elizabeth Warren to win the nomination but I worry about the dirty business her golden retriever may have gotten up to overseas.

Haven't learned a single thing if he's the nominee.

Again with the caveat for Abelard, I'm not a Biden fan...
I think he has a better chance of winning than Sanders.
He'll get all the regular blue states and just needs to take back a few rustbelt swing states.
He'll take Pennsylvania as it's where he's from. He'll do well with union workers in Michigan and Wisconsin, and I think he'll do alright in Florida.
Sanders will get a huge turnout on the coasts but might struggle with his message in the middle.
If Sanders is the nominee, he'll win the popular vote handily but will struggle with the electoral college.

The money has really moved for Biden in the last few days.

As predicted, this is getting away from Sanders now, although it’s going for uncle Joe rather than Bloomberg as I previously thought.

Biden won’t beat Trump though. History shows that it’s very difficult to oust a sitting president after a single term, especially when the economy is still seemingly doing well (that could change, of course)

it’s stating that Biden is an eel that will flip on something as major as that and Bernie is the real deal who truly believes in women’s rights all his political career. But I suppose Biden was a young naive 34 year old. Not relevant.
