And here was me thinking it was Trump that murdered irony

Mate, I'm a saint compared to what you'd be saying about Sanders, if he'd been trounced in every primary, had no path to elected victory, renounced all his pledges in order to take on more dark money than anyone else in the race, and had his campaign manager state for the record that his sole objective was to thwart Warren long enough to be awarded the nomination against the popular vote, by unelected lobbyists.

The Sanders/Warren divide is ultimately a clash in world-views between people who've read history, and people who've only read the Harry Potter series (but have read it 50+ times).

Except for the fact that I've never said a negative word about Sanders... I actually really like him... My problem is with the attitude and behaviour of a disturbingly large and vocal proportion of his supporters

I rest my case.

Sure, because it's in his power to personally control what every last person claiming to support him posts online.
Like I said, plausible deniability.

And in this parallel hellscape, CNN BREAKING NEWS: RAPID WARREN BRO THREATENS MASS DEFIGURATION CAMPAIGN, WHY WON'T SHE DO ANYTHING TO STOP HER SUPPORTERS' TOXIC MASCULINITY????
I'm not particularly rapid (bad back acquired through my adventures in working-class employment) but I do engage in what disfiguration I can, and not just in Mass but in RI and Conn too.

Except for the fact that I've never said a negative word about Sanders... I actually really like him...
Perhaps he mistook you for me? I say terribly mean things that probably make Sanders cry.

Obviously I'll vote for him if he gets the nom but I'm not up to engraving his likeness on my forehead. I'm the worst.

I hope when Bernie wins he rounds up all these right wing democrats and sends them to the Gulags.

Biden will get whacked by Trump if he is the nominee

Won't be able to activate the voters needed
And yet he has the best numbers vs Trump in all the states that matter.

it’s possible that Trump can beat Biden, and vice versa. It’s possible that Trump can beat Bernie, and vice versa...

But let’s not pretend like Bernie’s path (again - in the states that matter) is any easier than Biden’s

Someone certainly doesn’t think it is

Genuine question. If it becomes clear that Bernie is going to win the nomination, is it legally possible for the Democrat establishment, who robbed him last time, to fly in one of their own like Hillary and deny him the nomination again?

And, getting back to my point, will you still have nothing negative to say about him if Warren hypothetically led the race but Sanders still refused to back her, having been trounced in every primary, had no path to elected victory, renounced all his pledges in order to take on more dark money than anyone else in the race, and had his campaign manager state for the record that his sole objective was to thwart Warren long enough to be awarded the nomination against the popular vote, by unelected lobbyists?

I very much doubt it.

I shouldn't have said that. I apologise.

I started out on Warren's side. I'm not a huge fan of her conduct the last few weeks aside from tearing apart Michael Bloomberg so thoroughly that he might never get put back together. Unfortunately for her she won't be winning and needs to show if she's actually committed to the principles she claimed to be. If she is she will get behind Sanders sooner rather than later.

I too have issues with Bernie's support at times. It's why I was cautious early in 2016 (I ended up liking him more but it was too late to matter at that point) and it is a part of why I preferred Warren early on. They go beyond just a bit rowdy to genuinely damaging at times. Bernie tries to disavow some of it but it hasn't totally worked. And I do worry what will happen if Biden does win because there are certainly much bigger fish to fry. Everyone needs to show up.

If all that was true (though I’d dispute a decent bit of your characterisation, but I’m sure neither of us is surprised at that) then yeah I’d be fairly upset... but you’ve been (along with the rest of the aforementioned section of Bernie’s support) overwhelmingly negative about EVERY other candidate in the race since long before any of that was even arguably the case, and somewhere between condescending and outright hostile towards those who even remotely disagree with you.

I’ll just state for the record once again - if I was American, and Bernie wins the nomination (REGARDLESS OF CIRCUMSTANCE) I’d not only vote for him with a song in my heart, I’d volunteer, knock doors, phone bank and donate along with anything else I could do to get him elected.

Honestly, I’d do all those things for whoever the Dem nominee is - I truly believe it’s that important to get Trump out of office, and ANY of the serious candidates (and a good number of the non serious ones) would be an improvement - but I’d be far happier to do so for Bernie than most of them.

I shouldn't have said that. I apologise.

No worries - particularly confused me since (if memory serves) you’ve previously expressed your opinion that Warren supporters are supposedly the “over educated” ones

Suspect she’ll drop after Super Tuesday if she doesn’t outright win several states - something that isn’t impossible given current polls.

There’s still a path (just) open to her, but we’ll know in 24hrs whether it’s remotely viable. It’s clearly a long shot at this point. Sadly, as I truly do believe she’d make the best President of all the 900 original candidates.
