Agreed. It's got to find it's way through to the Sun and the Mail's readership.

The irony is that it does - the Mail especially is full of attacks on substandard care, of mental health patients released too early / not looked after properly and who go on to kill and maim, and on all the cash wasted on changing lightbulbs, overpaid managers and the rest.

The problem is that they rarely go on to say who is ultimately responsible for it all.

FFS just... take the open goal when it's offered to you, you stupid oaf!

Here's a free statement for you to use - "yes, and I will be stating as a pre-requisite for my attendance at the debate that the organisers 'empty chair' the Prime Minister to emphasise her fear at engaging the public and inability to defend the Conservatives record in office."

... 'sake.

True mate but all this about how good a performer someone is at PMs question time etc is just media driven fluff.

What we should all be focussing on is what are the real issues behind all the media fluff

The last thing he needs is to be on a stage with Farron/Sturgeon showing him up from his left flank...

Why? He's got no chance of winning as it is anyway - good strong performance could do him good.

Although Sturgeon would decimate him probably, that's true, but at this point it'd be like kicking a dead horse anyway. There's zero real risk to taking part whilst demanding the empty chair.

Not convinced either can claim that particular battle ground as "theirs" mate.

Having worked in schools under both Labour and Tory governments, I can honestly say that Labour had a much more coherent, systematic and financially committed approach to education that the conservatives.

The Tories really do seem to completely shun expertise and available wisdom and just make it up as they go along. It's been a six year car crash so far with little respite in view, even if we don't go down the ludicrous grammar school route.
