@Gouldy

Apologies mate. That reference was lost on me.

No harm, no foul

We can only wait and see on this one mate but I'm really sceptical that a lot of younger voters will turn out like that again. There's been loads of controversy in the last year of politics with the "bad guys" winning both the referendum and the US election so much so that it's attracted the attention of people who wouldn't normally vote in a million years. I'm unconvinced that this election was anything other then an exception to the rule. If I'm proven wrong then great as I'd rather more people voted but I'm unconvinced.

Whilst that's certainly a possibility, essentially still difficult to quantify accuracy on that (and my position too I guess), but I still think as a millennial, that he appeals to a lot of people in my generation, and more so than most politicians and will continue to do so. I know it doesn't mean too much in regards to obtaining votes at the moment, but Corbyn is at Glasto tomorrow, and a lot of big social music event that have happened over the last few months have resulted in the crowd chanting his name repeatedly - what other politician can you think of that happens to

My van exploded the other day, so had to get a quick replacement, and the garage had a diesel people carrier for about a grand.

Dont hate me mate.

I won't hate mate, circumstances are often unfortunate and can adversely affect the outcome you may (or may not) prefer.

All I'd ask is that given the age and the mileage etc, please stay right on top of the servicing using manufacturer parts, not cheap aftermarket ones and the right grade of oil to hopefully help it run as cleanly and economically as you can.

Having spent the majority of my working life in the automotive industry, I could drone on for ages about vehicles, oil, parts etc, but I'll save it all up for my local manifesto.

Ford Focus C Max, with a Peagout diesel engine. Just run in at 118k miles.

Clunks a bit, but if it lasts a year or two, bargain.

Ask yourself this - If they ditch May (vote winner in it's self) sex up/ tone down (where required) the manifesto, do you think that Labour have it in them to win another 25 seats over their best results for decades?
Not going to happen.

Ah, but there's the rub, Degs......they are like moths to the flame.

They cannot "tone down" their manifesto.....it is not in their DNA.

It us all about "shrinking the state" and that will only get them no more than the same type of result they have had in the last three elections....two where they failed to win a majority and one where they won a smallish, if workable majority.

The days of wannabee Tory blue collar workers voting for Thatcher's scorched earth economics in their droves are a dim and distant memory.

And I sure think Labour have it in them to win those 25 seats.....there are 13 plum targets in Scotland alone.

I cannot see the Tories polling so well up there next time.

I am pretty confident Corbyn is going to be PM sooner rather that later ;)

I disagree with this bigly. I hazard a guess the reason that youth turnout elevated in light of previous GEs was because of Corbyn and his policies, and the fact he resonates with millennials/younger generation. I don't think that will fizzle out anytime too and if this election showed anything, it was a growing satisfaction with Corbyn from the younger generation. If he can harness this momentum from that demographic (which I think he can and will do), it'll only set to serve him well during the next election I think.

Yip.

Those millenials got a wake up call when they found the older generation had foisted Brexit upon them and they ain't falling into that trap again any time soon.

Political ennui among the youth is so 2016.

you may be right about the 'sweaty socks' nicola krankie's star seems to be on the wain...We will find out soon, can't see May lasting the distance

Well put, also with the added complication of the HOL probably being under no obligation to pass the QS as a consequence, and working with the DUP being a legal minefield/impossibility, especially in conjunction with their intent to withdraw from ECHR.

Something of a pyrrhic victory when you can't even get much of your manifesto into a Queen's speech and your leader, if not your whole party, is mortally wounded.
