I have to admit I had the same thoughts as dave on this and wondered whether it should be postponed... but then i thought that it wouldnt be best because thats exactly what they want to happen. We have to continue with our way of life.

There will never be a day where the risk is totally zero. Policing will be at a huge level. Voting is a privilege and people should continue to do it. These terrorists would love it if we postponed the election and it sends the bad message that terror is rewarded.

All a moot point tho as it's going ahead as planned. And rightly so.

If policed correctly surely it's not a soft target? Armed police patrolling high risk areas will make it safer than going out for other things as proved by last nights events.

Also polling stations only ever have a few people at them at any one point. It's not like an event or a city centre on a Saturday night. I'm very hopeful our police are equipped to cope.

Specifically around this election though the polling stations will be a big temptation. It will make many people stay at home for the foreseeable and not risk it. That cant be the right conditions for an election.
