Not a great atmosphere to go out voting in really is it?
Totally agree, but the question is when will there be? Fingers crossed that's the last for a good while, but i've thought that after each attack.

It's an argument for full postal or online voting for me. That will ensure higher turnout and safety.

It is bravado. Just chest beating nonsense. Real people dying here. Thats what i see. I dont give a flying one for self serving politicians and their concerns. They're just wanting this done and dusted and couldn't give a toss if another one has to happen to get it over and done with.
Nonsense argument. There will be terrorist acts regardless of going to these polls in the months to come. At least giving the time to plan a polling day safely will minimise the threat to that obvious and multiple target.By changing the voting system due to a terror attack, you are accepting that terrorism has won in it's aim of changing our way of life. Just be reminded - the chances of being caught up in any type of terror attack are incredibly small.
By changing such a significant part of our lives such as voting, you will only see more of the same. Terrorists will finally see an effect of their actions.
I meant for future elections. Hardly a daft idea is it?Daft idea, but can't happen regardless. Any changes to when a vote takes place or how the votes are cast would require an act of parliament, and until the election, we have no MPs to pass one.
It might be the attitude you have but others won't and they won't feel safe enough to go and vote. That has to be wrong. Why push this through at the allotted date when elections have been cancelled before for foot and mouth outbreaks? So you're saying that politicians aren't arsed if another attack happens before Thursday? Wow. Hit new lows there mate. People WANT to carry on as normal. Why should we all change our lives for a few lunatics? People will WANT to vote on Thursday. [Poor language removed] the terrorists and what they stand for. This is Britain and we have faced much worse and come out the other side, we won't be beaten or scared. That's the attitude I'll have and I'm sure many others will have. Postponing achieves nothing.

I know what I think is the bigger danger to life and limb.
Spot on mate.Perhaps if we all want to feel safer, we could stop meddling in the Middle East, and selling arms to Saudi Arabia? Just a though..
Sounds a nightmare. I remember it well.F&M was all about containing the infection(s), nowt to do with public danger mate. In the countryside affected, where I live for example, it was a nightmare at times getting about. Roads had like a sort of blanket soaked in something at their entrances that you had to drive over, slowly, pubs had the same.
You were encouraged/told to frequently hose down wellies and shoes, and some areas were actually completely shut down, other than for vital services, to absolutely minimise travel in and out of them.

Still, the principle of cancelling an election is there and established for unprecedented circumstances. It matters not what that emergency is/was.
