I dont even think the apparent contradiction with his manifesto proposing Trident renewal is actually a contradiction, even though it looks like it should be. Having a nuclear deterrent isnt actually the same as saying you would rather not need one.

Of course it's not. Everyone has a personal view. A collective decision is arrived at. Policy adopted and supported collectively.

Non story.

Indeed. But not a week or so before an election. A few days after kids had been blown to bits in Manchester. He played to his own, long held, agenda, but he didnt need to.

Aint saying he is wrong, as the Yougov poll backs up, (but it was a daft question anyrate), I was saying it was a stupid battle to choose.

Indeed, but I'll go one further and say he is wrong.

Also, Corbyn is doing much better than I expected by sticking to his mantra. Fair enough.

But the polls are misleading. Pensioners have kicked May temporarily - when it comes to the vote, May will increase her majority.

Maybe.

So why feed the fire?

I honestly think he has more than a valid point. And he has been on this soapbox for ages, (thanks wiki), I just struggle to see what exactly he thought could be gained, in an election battle, by reverting to type.

Or maybe thats the appeal.
Says more about the current climate that we are all aghast at someone being ideologically consistent and honest, than pandering to the crowds

Do you think pensioners will be right to vote Tory?

It seems labour are anti foreign war but pro free and open borders.

But the tories are pro war but anti open immigration.

Why on earth is neither party anti foreign war and anti uncontrolled immigration. Most of the population would support this.
do you remember Brexit- we voted out to stop immigration mainly just because of Brexit many have left our country

The problem she has is that they went into that election contrasting loony Corbyn with the calm, sober, statesmanlike and competent May. We are three weeks in now and its her image that has taken a much greater kicking than his has, and it could easily get worse.

I think corbyn has been great and to take the labour party, who we all thought had no chance and were 18 points behind in the polls, to within 5 points is great stuff. I think it shows people do want change and how arrogant the Tories were in calling this election.

I mean look at that 16 point swing in Wales tells you a lot.

They don't need licence to pick him apart about what he didn't actually really say - after all, they have spent almost every day since 1st August 2015 doing that.

And constantly brought up his supposedly 'support' for the IRA, and threw in a few HAMAS references to use as a stick to beat him with. Corbyn never chose the issue of what happened in Manchester, the bombing did that. He would have had to deal with the issue come what may.t

What is obvious is the silence of the Tories about 'solutions' to this. Other than placing troops on the streets, due to a lack of police numbers, the Tories have gone back in their bunker and relied on the media to put the boot in.

Corbyn will need to deal with the Manchester bombing until polling day. The state controlled BBC were wetting themselves last night thinking 'we've got him'. Only for Corbyn to stand firm and explain his views clearly and succinctly.
