So you're happy with whatever kind of Brexit we have? You'd be happy with the Norwegian version, for instance, whereby we get single market + free movement and pay into the EU, albeit with no say on policy?

Come on, Bruce, be sensible. No one knows how things will finally settle. As the 5th best economy in the world, is the *rse going to drop out of this country through final settlements in the negotiations? Don't think so. If you slavishly believe all the crap put out by Juncker and his cohorts, then you really do need to think again. I thought we were through with all this crying when the Referendum thread reached its natural conclusion. Obviously not...

You seem to project the image of us ending up with some kind of bad deal, BECAUSE LEAVING THE EU WAS NOT YOUR PREFERENCE! Get over it. We cut the deals we want to, with whomever we want to, and if the EU doesn't like it, tough merde on them!

It's probably intended to be hands-off from the government, with a private Corp underwriting the overall insurance for the full care cost nationwide, and taking the assets.
It would be easily avoided by the wealthy (just employ the services directly), or transfer the assets/move offshore, and still use the service.

Indeed. The perverse thing about it is that its the Tory vote - those in those parts of the world like down here, the Home Counties and the South-West - who are going to pay the most under this system. A £100,000 cap on all assets, including housing, will leave an awful lot for the state to take.

Not sure either of the two main party manifestos are much to shout home about really, and if anything May seems to be parking her tanks on Labour lawns with her interventionist economic policies.

Really Bruce?

With the exception of the taxation pledges (as I'm well aware of the counter arguments to how you fund the manifesto pledges from both parties) I'm struggling to find anything in Labour's manifesto that I wouldn't want to see implemented.

In my opinion the manifestos aren't much to shout home about :)

May has shown real political strength in realising that an error was made and has now sought to clarify it. The manufactured outrage from Corbyn and co is pretty cynical tbh......I'd rather have a politician who reacts to an error than one like Corbyn (I won't use nuclear weapons so we'll just build the boats and not arm them) who cannot be persuaded to change his mind when he is in the wrong.......

Have you ever considered a career as a spin doctor ?
