Arsenal have alot of goals in them tho, and every season people write them off for a cl place and they always get it.

van persie did it literally single handedly for them last season. i watched the highlights on MOTD last night and their defending was absolutely dreadful. they seem to thrash teams 5-0, but they only do that every 4/5 games. when they don't get it right in front of goal, anyone can score at will against them.

We can too unless we get someone in.

Says who? Is he that harder working than Brad Friedel? How do you know either way? Beckham might be the hardest working player of all time, but the public perception that he is is just another element of his brand.

I happen to think he is still a very good player..... give him the ball and he will destroy you with his range of passing....age is not so much a factor these days if you look after yourself properly and he seems to have looked after himself very well.

The Echo boys are laying the foundations for the classic "we tried but...". As always don't get hopes up unless and until something is signed and sealed. At best I have us as 50:50 to add one marginal player. Some may see that as negative. I just think it is realistic given our limited funds, limited time and failure to deliver on Fer. I'd love to be wrong and will be monitoring the updates in hope like everyone else but there doesn't seem to be a a big groundswell of optimism/something imminent right now...

Are we really ‘trying’ to sign a 15million Euro player, with 10million Euros paid over a period of three or four years?

You certainly couldn’t blame anyone if the transfer window comes and goes without us signing anybody at all, could you?

The Echo are already printing stories saying we don’t need to strengthen, and that Neville is good enough to lead us into Champions League. What a joke!
