I think we need to endure until the end of the season, stay up and then regroup. Bring in a forward thinking manager we can all get behind. Until then our fanbase will remain split.

Not sure the fanbase is split....I don’t believe anyone at all is happy with the situation.

Allardyce is gone in the summer. We all know this. I hate it but I have to endure 12 more games.

Walsh I've no idea. I hope he's gone but he seems bulletproof no matter how abysmal he performs his role.

I hope so, but I’m not convinced. An owner who had a clear number one target who is now available would take the simple decision.

Knee jerk springs to mind. Let's see what happens in the next match when Coleman is back and Morgs is benched for starts. That was a team picked to save players for the next match.

In the summer we probably need to go down option A. Also 'In the hope we remain in the premiership'? We need 9 to 12 points more from nearly a third of a season still left to play!

Our next game is in a week so no reason to be saving players. Fat sam said himself he tried to copy how swansea had played against them but that shows the difference in managers as the swansea boss pulled it off having reviwed the squad and coming up with a system. Fat sam tried to shoe jorn players in to someone elses system.

but the next manager will have the same problems and will be sacked , and the next and the next ....

this is down to 1. the current players and 2. the player acquisitions ,who and how they choose them.
if a new manager comes in tomorrow, these 2 issues wont change.

OK so explain what we do to ‘recover’. No team in history has ever sacked all the players yet that seems to be your solution. It really does have to be the manager until we find one that can get a tune out if them.
Sure, some players will get moved on and some new ones will come in but essentially a manager these days gets 1-3 years typically to make a good fist of it. For me, six months of Allardyce is six months too many. His profile and personality is all wrong for Everton.

Where was this post after we won against Leicester? I don't like he threw the game and I hate almost everything he says but whether he is right or wrong will depend how we do in the next game with the 1st team out there.

I really have to question the sanity of anyone who advocates getting yet another manager in this season. We need to get to May have someone lined up to take over, let them have the full pre-season to work out who and how they want to play to give them the best chance of succeeding. Or do you want to give the next bloke a hospital pass?

Unfortunately I was working away in South Africa so a) missed the game and b) didn’t have an opportunity to get online. I think after all the years I’ve been a STH I can safely say it’s not knee jerk.
Do you think the Board are capable of lining up a suitable replacement whether it takes them 1 week or 1 year? It’s just taken them nearly 2 months to replace a manager and despite all the nonsense and bluff that we were going for a high profile name we brought in an arrogant, ignorant, tedious and oderous individual who not too long ago was slung out of the role of National Manager for misdemeanours. When they said ‘nothing will be the same’ they were for once bang on the numbers.

His contract runs out May 2019, that has to be an option in any poll as well as keeping him until the end of this season (the bookie's favourite). But he's not a necessary evil: personally I backed Unsworth to keep us up at a similar point-gathering level as Sam is doing, only with more entertaining games.

Do you honestly believe if we added those two options in it would make a difference to the votes? I don’t know a single Blue who would advocate keeping him till May 2019 and the ‘necessary Evil’ option is effectively until the end of the season.

Fair enough but if they are not capable of finding someone after the season is finished how are we going to fair any better doing it now. There probably is a valid point to whether we can bring back Unsworth for the last few games once we are totally safe to give him a run without pressure, but we are in danger of becoming a joke club. We used to sit and laugh at Villa and Newcastle doing this kind of thing and it didn't end well for them.

Some of us might want him here until the end of his contract if there's a reasonable expectation results will pick up in the Spring, especially against the smaller clubs. And also being mindful of us falling victim to the managerial-merry-go-round, where our budget gets blown on paying out sacked managers and paying out clubs to poach theirs, our owner then gets fed up and sells us off, and we start to resemble a Villa, Newcastle or Leeds as form goes out the window and the stadium remains a pipe-dream.

Endure till end of season, should be earmarking next-long term manager till then. We won’t though. Cause we’re crap.

This should have started as soon as Allardyce came in. It won’t have though. The board will wait for the fume to die down over summer then as long as he doesn’t flirt with relegation the job is his until fan protest happens like with Martinez.

Out at season end. Sacking now is financially irresponsible and makes us look desperate and will be unappealing to prospective other managers.

I have gone off the idea of Silva, more sold on Fonseca but I guess this is where we are now.

If Allardyce leaves and Walsh stays it will only make things worse.

They have to be decisive and clear, ready to act right at the end of the season. I don’t expect it.

Sacking him now would be kneejerk, let's be completely real here.

He'll finish the season with us still in the division. Get rid of him in May by all means but there's really no point in doing it now, would just cause more disruption, cost us even more money, and potentially backfire spectacularly.
