“Fans” that won’t support us if we get Allardyce

Why do people feel the need to come out and announce their undying Toffeeness. It's just a manager wed prefer not have but probably need for moment. Didn't spurs have redknap. It'll be a blip in time. Sure anything would be better than Martinez saying everything is phenomenal in that 3rd season.

If such a column existed it would be a detrimental factor in recruiting a manager to be honest.

Genuinely believe it does mate, why would we not cast our net wider then these shores....

Does anyone believe we would have went for Marco silva if we where in this situation a year ago? or is it now the fact he has nearly 1 years experience in the prem we are interested.

I dont believe for a second Marco Silva would even be known to the board a year ago... thats how pathetic the board is.

The players loved big Sam. They really bought into his style and man-management. Players like Borini, suddenly decided to track back and fight for us (He was previously lazy & looked like he didn't have the passion in him for a relegation battle) Our entire team was well drilled, when we pressed, we pressed as a team and everyone was on the same page.

No, not too many issues with that mate. Obviously, I'm sure internally there were some players banging on Moyes door to see where they stand etc - but nothing major was leaked. Some of the players big Sam bought suddenly lost their passion & desire, Moyes couldn't motivate them like Sam.

I can only speak from a personal viewpoint and say Sam come in, improved morale, got 11 players prepared to fight tooth and nail for the points, improved our shape, got the crowd back and ultimately kept us up - Fact. When he left, everything he had worked so hard to bring in fell apart, hence going down. There's no way we'd go down under Sam.

If he can bring all of the above mentioned qualities to Everton, you'll probably be pleasantly surprised.

You lot were shambolic for months after he arrived. The game at Goodison was probably the worst away side I've seen. And from what I heard there were issues with all of the Jan signings once he left. Kirchoff was a crock, Khazri returned overweight and unprofessional and Kone virtually went on strike to get a deal promised by Sam.

Untimately he did what Advocaat, di Canio and Poyet also done.

Not going because we are crap is one thing, not going because of appointing Sam The Bung is another. In all my years of following the blues we have been crap most of the time (in reality) but that has not once stopped me from attending. Immediately that Creep signs, I will boycott the club by my non-attendance. This is my right as a human being, I can decide what I go and support.

It does not mean I love Everton any less, just one big reason to not attend is actually greater than any reason to attend. It just means that I have principles, that I can deliberately avoid one of my greatest passions. It'll hurt like hell.

Rationalise away but you're still sacking Everton off. And just because of who would be coaching the team. The manager isn't Everton, we are.

I'm not fussed about someone sacking the club off but it is what it is, just take it on the chin.

Up the Toffees.

I totally get why the overwhelming majority are against this. First of all, it's the typical manager merry-go-round when there's managers abroad who are worthy of a big risk. More importantly, his corruption which ultimately lost him his England job. Then, add to the fact he's out of touch with modern football and has football philosophies which are totally out of date But, to simplify it, see below.

Will he keep you up?
- Yes.

Will you be a playing a free-flowing game, entertaining to watch and looking to penetrate teams with quick, direct passing?
- No

Is he a long-term option for Everton realistically?
- No

Will he spend countless hours in training to make you better defensively & hard to beat?
- Yes

The truth is, if you're in a spot of bother and look like you may end up fighting relegation Big Sam is the 'go to man'. He'll have you as a drilled unit, aiming to keep a clean sheet. He'll make no apology that the standard of football will not be a priority objective, even at home. But, if it means winning 1-0 due to a scruffy goal he'll say it was justified. You'll probably find yourselves rarely first on Match of the Day!

Put it this way, you're going to Anfield soon. It wouldn't surprise me if you go there and draw 0-0 and just park the bus. Sam will ensure that the likes of Salah get no time on the ball at all and is doubled up. You'll ensure they get no time on the ball and will frustrate them.

I know he's got a lot of flaws as a manager and as a human. That tax 'thing' was just shameful. But, let's not kid ourselves. This sort of thing is rife now. Big Sam was caught out, how many haven't been caught? Corruption and greed is everywhere. Even multi-millionaires will still get and earn a few quid by cutting corners. Not that I'm excusing him, I still have deep hatred for him, considering he left Sundeand for England, only to end up lasting a few days.

But, when you get over the fact he's a defensive minded coach (He'll never change now) who doesn't mind playing a dull style of football - long as he gets results, he does have a proven pedigree of keeping teams up, instantly makes them concede less and generally, makes them harder to break down.

I know why some wouldn't touch him with a barge pole, but, considering your current position, is it such a poor choice? Or, is it a safe choice.

If you're in charge of appointing the Everton manager, would you go for an unproven foreign/lower league record in the hope the gamble pays off. Or, would you appoint someone who has kept every team he took over up, improving their results consistently over a short-period in every job?

Hope it works out for you. But, if Big Sam is appointed, I'd say lower your expectations and give him a chance.

Sorry to speak out of turn. Just tossing my view in the ring.

I mean look at the state of this. Advice and head patting from a f'in Sunderland fan, right in the middle of the Everton forum, talking about an impending appointment of Allardyce.

Please HMRC / Deloitte / Whoever does the work when the receivers are called in at Sunderland, do Everton first. Please. Liquidate us right down to gravy and let Fat Sam, 'only overpriced British players please' Walsh and knife you in the ribs Shakespeare use the gravy like Robinsons Squash, diluted with greed, liquidised fat and wine. Just obliterate us right now.

Sorry to speak out of turn.

'OH NO, I TRIED TO STAND UP BUT I SEEM TO BE UNABLE TO LOCATE A SPINE'

BLEACH! LIQUIDATION! PAT US ON THE HEAD RIGHT NOW

He'll do exceedingly little damage in 6 months

If he's on a longer term contract then fine, but I don't think he will be

He'll get paid a sickening amount to money for 6 months work and will go away

During that time we as supporters of our club need to SUPPORT it and help get the players over the line

Sam Allerdyce is a war time prime minister. This is a survival season, the usual rules have been changed for the short while we're in it

I don't like him, but I'm going to back my team

We've got Allardyce compared to Churchill here

Yerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs GIVE ME THE GRAVY, GIVE IT ALL TO ME

And get shut of those Angry Birds. We’ve been s.... since we put them on the sleeves.

Kirchoff played a pivotal role in our season mate. Khazri, was unfit but he's had the problem for years - Nothing to do with SA. In fact, his work ate improved under Sam, only for him to return back to his lazy ways under Moyes.

Don't get me wrong. He didn't come in and instantly turn us around. It was a long process, but fundamentally, he improved us and left us in a much better position that before he come in. His job was to keep us up - He done just that.

Kone's head was turned when you were were interested. Again, hardly Sam's fault. He wanted to go, he was refused. After Sam left, Moyes failed to properly rectfy that situation and his form was utterly woeful.

So you feel ashamed big Sam is taking over, but not the fact we have not won the league since 1987? Our last major trophy was back in 1995? If we are such a big club we should have to wait so long. Man City & Chelsea will win more than 9 titles and we will keep slipping down the list. The only thing Everton Fans can say is they have played more top flight league games than anyone now (and football league founder member). Arsenal are the only team ahead of us to play more season in a row at the highest level (though we have played more seasons at the top level).

We are a just an above average premier league club - nothing else. We will never be bigger than last seasons top 6 and other teams are catching us up. What people thought of everton in the middle 1980's is totally different to what is they are in 2017.

I am fully aware of our current standing in the game thanks mate and I made no mention of being a 'big' club.
You say "we will never be bigger than last seasons top 6" Really? If you truly believe that, then why bother? What would be the point?
Things can and do change over time. During my life time Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea, Man City have all been far lower than we are now.
My point is that appointing Allardyce would show a lack of desire or ambition to ever be a top club again. It would be conceding defeat and lamely accepting mediocrity. THAT would shame me.
We need to aspire to be winners even when we are at our lowest ebb. Not only can things change, but they can change fast. Do you remember the utter misery of 1994? If so then presumably you also remember the couple of seasons that followed it.

Take your "we will never be bigger than last seasons top 6" and stick it where the sun don't shine

Everton are a football club who has standards or used to have.

Employing Allardyce, who let’s be honest is a dinosaur and as about progressive thinking as Donald Trump, would be an absolute kick in the balls for the club and fans. His football is out of the dark ages and we haven’t even got the players to implement it.

Nothing guarantees that he would keep us up more than Fonseca, O’Neill, Dyche or anybody else would.

The fact that he’s supposedly got the club over a barrel should be enough to think he should be swerved.
