“Fans” that won’t support us if we get Allardyce

Sorry Mikey, he wont be going anywhere at the end of the season.

We offered him 6 months when he wanted 3 years, and he told us to do one...

You better believe we have accepted every pathetic demand he had to get him to the club.

It's such a mess. Whoever comes in has to be (at least publicly) on a longer term deal otherwise why would the players be bothered if the new man is gone in summer? Shambolic.

We'll have just kept upping the pay off until he agreed to the 6 months

If Moshiri and Kenwright offer him a multiple year contract then they need to be outright removed from power

We wont do that, 7 mil to get rid of Martinez, 10 mil to get rid of Koeman. The reason they wanted 6 months was to take time and not have to pay someone off.

The only way hell be removed is if it gets so toxic that the footfall is compromised at the stadium.

He will have a 3 year deal, £4m a year and a large bonus if he keeps us up this year.

The people running this club have bolloxed it up big time

This appointment will be an eternal monument to how insipid a job they've done

But, at the end of the day we need to be there for our club IMO

The fact we have to make this appointment is a symbol of how much we have fallen

If we want to avoid that final step to destruction, we as supporters have to give the team our very life force to scrape over the survival line

Ultimately Mikey, we are in this mess because of the board yes, but we are accepting the narrative that no one besides Allardyce can save us, based purely on the fact a under 23s manager couldn't change our fortunes - and his record btw compares favourably in his first period of games in charge with what allardyce tends to do when taking over (which is a shocker i know)

Would rather have had LVG, Hiddick or god forbid even Moyes at the club than this crook, but we will have never bothered with them - because i don't believe the goodison phones are allowed to call international numbers - for either managers or players

Can’t see him going for a 6 months contract mate.

He’s got us over a barrel, and our board are that inept they will have caved in and give him what he wants.

If they were going to appoint him, they should have done it weeks ago and got it over with.

You think Sam is here for 6 months? lol Jesus mate. Be alarmed very alarmed

He will take a 2 1/2 year contract - take a 7-8m pay-off in the summer - IF we stay up, we will be left with 6-8 signings of players promised lots of things but not on paper by him that will create a mess of epic proportions once he goes - exactly like at Sunderland.

We will also be saddled with about a dozen or more of his employees he brings with - none of whom will be on short term deals either and we will then have to either pay them off or lumber the next manager with them, and any manager worth his salt will see what the mess is thats been left and steer well clear of us mate.

Thats the legacy

I totally get why the overwhelming majority are against this. First of all, it's the typical manager merry-go-round when there's managers abroad who are worthy of a big risk. More importantly, his corruption which ultimately lost him his England job. Then, add to the fact he's out of touch with modern football and has football philosophies which are totally out of date But, to simplify it, see below.

Will he keep you up?
- Yes.

Will you be a playing a free-flowing game, entertaining to watch and looking to penetrate teams with quick, direct passing?
- No

Is he a long-term option for Everton realistically?
- No

Will he spend countless hours in training to make you better defensively & hard to beat?
- Yes

The truth is, if you're in a spot of bother and look like you may end up fighting relegation Big Sam is the 'go to man'. He'll have you as a drilled unit, aiming to keep a clean sheet. He'll make no apology that the standard of football will not be a priority objective, even at home. But, if it means winning 1-0 due to a scruffy goal he'll say it was justified. You'll probably find yourselves rarely first on Match of the Day!

Put it this way, you're going to Anfield soon. It wouldn't surprise me if you go there and draw 0-0 and just park the bus. Sam will ensure that the likes of Salah get no time on the ball at all and is doubled up. You'll ensure they get no time on the ball and will frustrate them.

I know he's got a lot of flaws as a manager and as a human. That tax 'thing' was just shameful. But, let's not kid ourselves. This sort of thing is rife now. Big Sam was caught out, how many haven't been caught? Corruption and greed is everywhere. Even multi-millionaires will still get and earn a few quid by cutting corners. Not that I'm excusing him, I still have deep hatred for him, considering he left Sundeand for England, only to end up lasting a few days.

But, when you get over the fact he's a defensive minded coach (He'll never change now) who doesn't mind playing a dull style of football - long as he gets results, he does have a proven pedigree of keeping teams up, instantly makes them concede less and generally, makes them harder to break down.

I know why some wouldn't touch him with a barge pole, but, considering your current position, is it such a poor choice? Or, is it a safe choice.

If you're in charge of appointing the Everton manager, would you go for an unproven foreign/lower league record in the hope the gamble pays off. Or, would you appoint someone who has kept every team he took over up, improving their results consistently over a short-period in every job?

Hope it works out for you. But, if Big Sam is appointed, I'd say lower your expectations and give him a chance.

Sorry to speak out of turn. Just tossing my view in the ring.

What happened to all the players BFS signed to keep you up mate, how did any of those work out the season after, and did any issues arise with any about broken promises etc given to them by Allardyce when signing?

The season after - was the club in a better or worse state than the season he took you over ?

The players loved big Sam. They really bought into his style and man-management. Players like Borini, suddenly decided to track back and fight for us (He was previously lazy & looked like he didn't have the passion in him for a relegation battle) Our entire team was well drilled, when we pressed, we pressed as a team and everyone was on the same page.

No, not too many issues with that mate. Obviously, I'm sure internally there were some players banging on Moyes door to see where they stand etc - but nothing major was leaked. Some of the players big Sam bought suddenly lost their passion & desire, Moyes couldn't motivate them like Sam.

I can only speak from a personal viewpoint and say Sam come in, improved morale, got 11 players prepared to fight tooth and nail for the points, improved our shape, got the crowd back and ultimately kept us up - Fact. When he left, everything he had worked so hard to bring in fell apart, hence going down. There's no way we'd go down under Sam.

If he can bring all of the above mentioned qualities to Everton, you'll probably be pleasantly surprised.

It will work out at not much short of 20 million quid. That's before you get another manager out of s club.

We are led to believe Fonseca and Vitoria fancied it. I'd love to know the though got process as to why we didn't go for one of them.

See column titled "premier league experience"....

because as a club we are terrified of being bold and doing something new.
