“Fans” that won’t support us if we get Allardyce

I think such 'fans' would be few and far between. I can however sympathise with those who feel this way.
NOTHING will ever stop me from supporting Everton.
In more than half a century of supporting the club I have experienced just about every emotion possible, ranging from ecstasy to utter despair and everything in between. I honestly thought that there was no emotion left to experience.
This is a new one for me though.
IF Allardyce is appointed, I will for the first time feel ASHAMED to tell people that I'm an Evertonian.
The ONLY consolation is that managers, like players, come and go. In his case the sooner the better.

So you feel ashamed big Sam is taking over, but not the fact we have not won the league since 1987? Our last major trophy was back in 1995? If we are such a big club we should have to wait so long. Man City & Chelsea will win more than 9 titles and we will keep slipping down the list. The only thing Everton Fans can say is they have played more top flight league games than anyone now (and football league founder member). Arsenal are the only team ahead of us to play more season in a row at the highest level (though we have played more seasons at the top level).

We are a just an above average premier league club - nothing else. We will never be bigger than last seasons top 6 and other teams are catching us up. What people thought of everton in the middle 1980's is totally different to what is they are in 2017.

Very noble. But still doesnt give you the right to judge other fans or worse, accuse them of not being fans just because they have a different POV to you.
I’ll go back to the point that I’m not forcing anyone to stop supporting Everton. But if someone says they won’t support Everton anymore then they shouldn’t be offended when someone “accuses” them of not supporting Everton anymore.

Appointing Allardyce, a manager who got Bolton into the top 6 and who has never been relegated in almost 20 years of Premier League management, is a better bet than letting Rhino get us relegated.

At the moment we are a club in freefall and Big Sam has a knack for stabilising such clubs. He's a safe pair of hands.

He's not Simeone, but I'd rather have him in charge than the likes of Dyche, Silva and Moyes, all of whom have been relegated.

I was the same when Martinez came. I was embarrassed. Then I was surprised, I’m hopeful this happens again.

Problem is though Bryan, it's the character of the person that troubles me - and the legacy he leaves behind at clubs - which hasten their collapse

sat through, Smith, Walker, Kendall 2&3, some awful seasons of footy under Moyes, Martinez and then Koeman as well, but at least none of them deliberately went out of the way to line their own pockets at the long term expense of the club - which is what Allardyce will do, make no mistake about it, we will pay a shed load for him and his staff, buy in a lot of short term fix players who we will be saddled with when he goes (thats happened at every single club he's been at) and then have to pay off his staff when we decide to be 'ambitious' again and actually play football.

Yup we will most likely stay up this season, but longer term i have serious doubts about the future of the club over the next 3-4 years after

if people choose not to go just stop, Big Sam may well be our manager starting tomorrow morning if you don't feel you can continue to support the blues because of him fine, just stop you wont be missed.

delete your got account - you won't be missed, may up your standing on RAWK if you do a coming out post soon as well btw, others have done it recently:)

And leave my club just for the likes of you? No thanks. You don't decide who is and who isn't an Evertonian. I was born in St Domingo road, I have no choice, it is actually in my blood. My family goes back to the very beginnings, my two boys are Evertonians and no self appointed bellwhiff with a keyboard decides if I am an Evertonian, you arrogant prig.

Mate he has been tagged as a Koppite anyway since pretty much day 1.

I support Everton not Everton managers Mr Superbloo. There's a big difference.

If he's in charge will I want to win Saturday? Of course. Will I want him to leave the club regardless? Of course.

For me it's not just that he's a rubbish manager, although goodness knows that's bad enough, it's that his reputation has been hugely tarnished by the sting that saw him booted out of the England job. People have argued that anyone opposed to his appointment doesn't love the club, but I'd argue that those that oppose his appointment are doing it precisely because they love the club, not just for what it is, but for how it has tended to go about things.

Appointing Allardyce as manager not only confirms how far we've fallen on the pitch, but also underlines how shambolic we have become off it. That we're prepared to leave any ethical considerations at the door to appoint someone of such mediocre quality is something that understandably sticks in the craw for many. If this goes through it will probably be the lowest I've felt about this club in the 30+ years that I've followed her.

He's basically as low as a club could go moral wise on a manager mate, basically hiring a proven crook

Spot on, Bruce
