Where does Sigurddson best fit into our formation? What does that mean for Davy/Rooney?

£25m for 23 year old Ross. A season later £0 for Ross.

Each results in a loss of about £20m-£25m.

Would rather Ross linked up with Rooney for a season and we played proper football.
We must have enough talented players to cover dead balls and corners, to not need to spend £50m surely?

DCL and Sandro are u23.

Pickford is 23 which let's be honest is young for a goalie at this level.

Davies, Holgate and Lookman all u23 on the bench.

Keane and Klassen are 24, think Besic is too.

There's plenty of youth in the squad.

He hasn't improved as a player whatsoever in 4 years, so I don't know how we can expect £25m for him. We'll get back roughly what we paid for him, bang average football player, can't wait til he's in the bin.

I agree he hasnt improved in last 4 years but that doesnt mean his value hasnt gone up. Just look at Allen at Stoke. A similar type player who hasnt shown any improvement either but Swansea just had a £20m bid turned down.

McCarthys stock will be high with clubs below us.

Rooney coming back was real a long time ago. It didn't all just happen in a flash after Klaassen signed.

The Rooney deal was as you say agreed months ago.
When Koeman praised him and Walsh said he'd drive to pick him up the deal was done
It was all tied up with the Lukaku deal hence we bought players early as we knew Rom was gone and for how much and that United were giving Rooney a pay off

I've tried to be optimistic for 6 weeks mate but this is what everton do. We don't have the money, I posted on another thread monies will be put aside for the ground. Incoming will be offset by outgoings. Nothing has convinced me otherwise. I want siggy I really do. Plus others up top especially. Now ross is injured this will affect us i suspect with our funds.

Given our run of tough fixtures, and Sigurdsson's past of scoring against the top teams, it really is in our best interests to get this sorted in the next day or two.

Doubt that logic will have any bearing on how the board act though, just give them an extra £5m ffs you tight sods we're supposed to be minted.

Only way our board come out of this looking good now is if we get him for £42m or less.
