Disappointing.
The opportunity to really make leaps as an organization, to change the culture and really push yourself doesn't actually come around often. EFC had taken the first steps but appear to have lost their nerve to take real risks.
While all off-seasons are interesting, this one seems particularly intriguing. It will clearly demonstrate how serious TFG is about the women's side.
They've made good moves so far, IMO, with a change away from Brian S and shift to Goodison. Now, with a manager opening AND possible player...
Ok, fair point - but to be realistic, the Rockies aren't bad for a Single-A team.....and it's a pretty view on a summer evening - and it has to be to make up for the overall crap baseball team they are.
Ok, hands off Nick Cushing - he's now the first year manager for Denver Summit, our new team in the NWSL - he's getting great reviews and building a good team - so he's a definite no-go!!!
Appreciate the background - thing #1 on my list is a top quality and known manager - we must have that role well-filled or speculation about actually strengthening squad with name players is just silliness.
(I'm sure we could get Jean-Luc Vasseur for cheap, but I am guessing that'd be a no-go.)
This is where the owners/leaders need to be on their A game, selling an attractive vision for the future and the concrete steps they are taking to make that happen - that's the only way to head off a mass defection. We're obviously not going down (just Leicester is a candidate for that...
