I won a £500 second prize in 1984. Our first born was a few months old, Mrs Whittle had stopped work to look after him and we were on beam end financially. That win was a godsend.
A laser beam - also did you notice they had the same number of winners every week - to get the centre of the ball it had to be a pin of an X in the middle of the ball - I had an Aunt who got 2nd prize £500 back then big money in those days ....
