What are you currently listening to?

It could've been writen for her.

Having really good session musicians behind her really helps, but somehow her singing style and posh voice really lends itself to certain songs.

A mate who’s a real muso, was dragged to one of those outdoor events in a park somewhere, for mums and middle aged last year, where she was part of the line up.

He’s a bad music snob, but he said the set of covers she did, was the highlight of the event and she put on real show !

Have you ever listened to these? It's not far off the same sound

I`ve heard of them, but never listened to them before.

I`ll have a good listen later, but you`re spot on about the similarities.

The guitaring reminds me quite a lot of the likes of Pulp and she has a voice quite similar to that of Sarah Cracknell from Saint Ettiene.

I think St Ettiene kind of started the UK female deadpan voice style, I can't think of many doing it all apart from US no wave bands (sonic youth, b52) but it misses the sarcasm kind of thing that the British had at the time

@Benicetoourboys

Now that I've untwisted my brain, yes you need to listen to Sgt Pepper again.

A Day In The Life
With A Little Help...
Lucy...
Getting Better
When I'm Sixty-Four

?!?!?!?!?!?!?

And I thought I was going mad...boo on you

I like 3 of the above, all of which I'd heard of (WAL Help, Lucy & 64), still prefer their early stuff tho & still not a Jude fan.
The Beatles were great though.

Yup, although I feel there's a little of the "familiarity breeds contempt" thing going on with scousers after chatting with you all for 30+ years. I can understand, if you don't like things being shoved down your throat, but your city did produce some modern-day Mozarts so I can see why they'd be so omnipresent, particularly in the city. I'm glad to see them being embraced more by EFC; like it or not they're more of a world brand than the club so it's no bad thing to have an association somehow and it's not like the links are made up PR BS. I still want to see Paul play at Bramley Moore, preferably being the first concert held there, but the timing has to be right for both parties. He's generally a quiet person (may not seem like it around Liverpool/theUK due to oversaturation, I don't know) considering the world-wide fame afforded him, so it'd ne nice to see him give the Blues a shoutout but he's not a self-proclaimed sports guy. He's influenced countless other musicians though, so I'd gladly take an EFC nod from all of them because of him. Anyhow, I'm fanciful dreaming, never mind me.

This is interesting insight from the guy who is credited with making Olivia Rodrigo, Chappell Roan, etc household names:

Won't be for everyone but hopefully some find joy.
