Just had some quite upsetting news. My brother just called to say his granddaughter, the one with secondary breast cancer, sadly passed away last night. I really feel for my niece, her mother, who I know will be absolutely devastated. She is away on holiday at the moment. Her daughter had been doing brilliantly after being given 3 months back in January, but took a turn for the worst at the end of last week and went downhill very fast. I only spoke to my brother on Sunday and he said she was in hospital having tests on her liver, but he didn't seem overly concerned at the time. 28. No age at all.

I hate late people, I am punctual to the point of OCD. If i have to be somewhere, say a job, regular, say I start at 9, I'll get there for 8.45, all good you say, it is but then i start being punctual to my punctual time.

So say I was setting off at 8.15, I'd eventually(well within days) start setting off at 8. It's terrible and I end up being that guy who waits for ages...

It is one of my bizarre character traits, I have a feeling the diagnosis are not over yet and more will be uncovered as i go in therapy ffs lol

Some things are just who you are not everything needs a name ,I think some can be to hard on themselves for just being human .I am the same with timekeeping ,if I have to go then I might as well go at the correct time .When I was working here in -20° of course I would prefer to stay in bed but no I was up bright and early to get there without worrying about being late . I do however always like the placemats on the table in line with the edge !

Well to be honest I haven't watched the video and yours won't play but nevertheless I don't like the mud slinging that goes on in politics .
She is a young woman and I see no wrong in it -she hadn't taken drugs and people of her age in Finland behave like that . Much ado about nothing for me ,I am not surprised it is another politician that posted the original . She took the test just to prove a point not to prove her innocence . I am very proud that Finland had the courage to elect a woman and will again I am sure ,she is a very intelligent woman and deserves her post .

I watched the videos and found nothing indecent or inappropriate about it. Just normal behavior for a 30 year old that was having a good time with some friends at a private home. If it had been a man, I’m sure there would have been no criticism but since she is a young PM who is acting like a normal person then some people seem to be censuring her behavior. But like you, I feel she is a very intelligent woman that seems to be doing a good job for the country , and just because she is a PM that shouldn’t exclude her for having a personal life. Besides, dancing and singing are good forms of expression and happiness, good for the for no allowing her PM job to change her into a insipid character.

What I find totally unacceptable is that someone in that party betrayed her by releasing her video clips, that’s the upsetting part about the whole story.

Seems she is breaking the mold ..There is a certain solemnity expected from our country leaders… many around the world get into the position way after most of us are expected to retire from the companies we’re at..
so female and young… thing is as long as she is doing a good job then nothing should stick.

I agree, one wish there were more leaders like her instead the men currently running our world.

Im so sorry to read this news. It breaks my heart for your family having to lose a dear family member at such a young age. I try not to use the word hate very often, but I hate cancer and the devastation it causes to their victims and their families. I cannot even phantom how hard the lost of her daughter is going to be for your niece and everyone else. As a parent, one never want to be having to be burying one’s kid. That’s not how it is suppose to happen. I hope your family can make sense of such loss and find some peace and comfort as you remember and honor your niece.

Great news that @Terrarian is soon getting a new fridge thanks to the fabulous generosity and kindness of @roydo . Restores your faith in human nature stuff like that.

The vast majority of folk have a wonderful sense of right/wrong, good/bad, not cos of a religious calling or anything, but cos human nature is, well, a human thing. And generally, we are ok.

Every now and then, I look at the thread that Dan started when my darling Nikki left us. And it always moves me. Not in a "woe is me" way, but cos of the human reaction to a stranger, in the main, having a tough gig. That is a tiny example of human nature. A larger, more visable one, are the countless examples of humans responding to humans being in trouble. Ukrainian refugees, Live Aid, disasters long forgotten, where volunteers have volunteered, and joe public have put a few bob in a collection tin at the shop. That is human nature.

And this thread, like a few on GOT, is proof of that.

I clearly remember, when Nik was first poorly ill, some poster that I cant even recall, DM'd me offering me his family season ticket for any game, (not United nor RS mind), any time I wanted it. Literally, out of the blue.

GOT, for those with a longer memory, will recall posters helping a Russian lad getting housed, a job, his place furnished, gratis, when he had to flee Russia. (He turned into a tit, but even so). We have sent flowers to funerals, got Carlos a shirt with his name on it, the depression thread has prevented at least one suicide.
