Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Ha ha. Where did you dig that up from H? lol lol

Reminds me that it's the annual Beatles Festival at the Adelphi next Sunday. It's a must see for any Beatles fan that hasn't been before and goes on all day. They have presentations, memorabilia sales and about 4 stages dotted around the hotel that show Beatles tribute bands from around the world. There will probably be about 40 different bands on. Some are quite humorous but others are really really good. Well worth a visit @Jazzy if you have nothing else planned. I've been to about 6 of them and not been disappointed once.
From the recesses of my mind, memories of my distant teenage years. lol The festival sounds fab, wish I lived nearer.

Good evening all. Brilliant effort @jazzy The animals will appreciate all the money you've made. @roydo That is such a nice thing to do and is win win for all by the sound of it. @Barnfred 55 I've been to a couple of Beatles Festivals and, as you say, never disappointed. I saw The Bootleg Beatles at The Sage in Gateshead - they did a tour to coincide with the 50th anniversary of Sgt Pepper being released. They were brilliant. As an added bonus Roger McGough was also there doing a bit of poetry and acting as host for the evening. We also saw a different Beatles tribute band after a race meeting at Gt Yarmouth. They were pants. John was French, Paul was right handed - not that I'm picky or anything! Glad you had a good trip to Liverpool @Armaghtoffee and we even got a point for you.

Not much to report, I have turned into the world's most boring person. I have no craic at all. Today has been work, cook tea, wash hair, watch telly. Going to watch Man U v RS and hope for a draw. Who would have thought that we would be a point behind them and a point ahead of Man Utd - and be 16th! lol

Morning guys, just having a catch up, not had the best start to the week, they've just rang and cancelled my health check this afternoon, really awesome, I'm struggling and they just take their time, not happy, this is the second delay now and I will probably have to rearrange the appointment with the Dr now ffs.

Then this morning I have noticed my fridge has conked out, it is only 4 years old nearly. I can't believe my luck, I've literally just took a loan to buy a new vacuum because that cheap one was terrible and I need a good one, less than 2 weeks later my fridge breaks down, in the last two years I have had to replace washing machine, cooker and freezer now the fridge ffs.

Yeah, feeling a bit stressed, not worried about the footy, we'll be fine we're so much better than last season but no striker, hopefully that will be rectified and we can put relegation bollox behind us. I was actually embarrassed Rondon was starting a Premier League game for us, god awful player.

Over to you Kevin
I didn’t have the time to post earlier today, T. But I wanted to let you know that I’m thinking of you. I hope you were able to reschedule your health check appointment. It seems almost cruel that someone with your health issues is not giving a priority. Like others have mentioned already, please don’t feel like you can’t come to us to express your struggles. We are here for support and to try to cheer you up, just like Daisy. Except that our licks are virtual and not as satisfying lol

Awoke to cloudy skies and light rain.

I was having a lovely sleep until Rosie got me up wanting a poo.
It's a long story but .....yesterday was the summer dog show fundraiser . Mrs J was making a mountain of sandwiches and triying to feed the 5000.
I had to do the gate at Lydiate on my own as Mrs J had agreed to look after all the animals at the sanctury whilst everyone else was at the show.
So, she made the sandwiches etc , the kitchen was a mess and we started loading my car with the food, in between times Rosie , quick as a flash , managed to get the leftover cheese from the work surface ( there was a lot ) and in about 20 secs that we were away ate the lot. She wasn't sick but cheeese disagrees with her and she gets the runs - as I found out last night when she woke me up - fortunately she made it outdoors first - too much info with your cornflakes ? Sorry.

Ok back to the show. Perfect weather for it sunny but not too hot for the dogs. Never seen it busier and as usual with my charm and wit I was on meet and greet and trying to get as much as possible off people as they came in. Anyway no one told me that we had a celebrity judge for the dog show. There was a queue of cars trying to get in and I was trying to get them in as quickly as possible , inpart info and get loads of money off them . Sounds easy but it's actually quite hard to be so nice to so many people - at least I find it hard ! Anyway this really glamourous woman gets out of the 3rd car in the line and goes to get into the show. I'm thinking - she's vaguely familiar but wayyyyy over dressed for a dog show........

Me; "Sorry , there's a queue but I will get to you as soon as I can "
Her ; "No I'm judging the show"
Me ; - with a smile - " You're late it started 10 minutes ago ., you'd better get in there !"
Her; " I can't run in these heels!"

Turns out it was ................Tricia Penrose off Heartbeat ! That will mean nothing to @Sassy Colombian and anyone under 40 but some of you may remember her.

She was actually lovely when we had a laugh and chatted later. Anyway it was a good day - we raised over £4k and I took £950 on the gate so happy days all round.

Must admit we were equally knackered when we got home though. And Granny helped out looking after the escape artists Tintin and Rosie.

You will note that I have assiduosly avoided any Everton chat. We had the table tennis club do on Saturday and a couple of the lads came along after the game. They weren't very complementary about our performance and prospects for the season so I'll leave it at that . PersonallY I think everything depends on what we do in the transfer market in the next few days but as we all know are hamstrung by our financial position but I will leave it at that in case I upset any of my chums on here. With the train strike I had to get a bus to Southport - first time I've been on a bus for 30 years - it was a really pleasant experience .

So, bit of a restful day - off to the gym ,a bit of light gardening and then a 90 minute yoga session tonight. Don't think I can bring myself to watch the United / RS game. Yes it's hilarious to see United imploding and at least they are worse than us , but the RS will benefit from their incompetance and that's not something I want to see.

Have a lovely day everyone.
You are right, Jazzy. It meant nothing to me but now I know more about Tricia Penrose than I did yesterday. I also found this throwback pic that she posted on twitter. Just in case some of you need to refresh their memories ?

Btw, as always, it is remarkable the volunteer work that you and Mrs. J do to raise money to help dogs and other animals. They are lucky to have you as benefactors. Xxx

@blue1948 I was reading some news about Finland’s PM taking a drug test because of the video below. Are people really disappointed that a woman PM likes to dance, sing and have a few booze?

Well to be honest I haven't watched the video and yours won't play but nevertheless I don't like the mud slinging that goes on in politics .
She is a young woman and I see no wrong in it -she hadn't taken drugs and people of her age in Finland behave like that . Much ado about nothing for me ,I am not surprised it is another politician that posted the original . She took the test just to prove a point not to prove her innocence . I am very proud that Finland had the courage to elect a woman and will again I am sure ,she is a very intelligent woman and deserves her post .

Unfortunately it didn’t go so well when we elected a woman and I fear we are going to be saddled with another one, which we HAVEN’T elected, don’t get me started.lol

Seems she is breaking the mold ..There is a certain solemnity expected from our country leaders… many around the world get into the position way after most of us are expected to retire from the companies we’re at..
so female and young… thing is as long as she is doing a good job then nothing should stick.

When she was elected "The Iron lady " I was working in Vauxhall's and so many work a "spell" ,for those who don't understand it is/was when one man covered the job of another as well as his own. There were jobs on the production line that one man could cover three .That meant in a nine hour shift they were working three hours ,I am a Labour man through and through but that is just wrong ,so Maggy had seen some of those practices and acted and for a short while I thought she was correct but she soon changed my mind with the miners and steelworkers amongst others .
I watch from afar the election for the Connies and it is a farce . I think there should be a far better way than the theater that happens now .
