Why though?

They are one of the best sides in Europe, on an unreal run, why did you expect a mid table Spanish side to trouble them. Mad how they got Benfica and Villarreal to get to a CL final.

Oh no not me sorry, I was expecting Liverpool to smash them about 6 or 7-0 on aggregate but when I said what an easy semi final they have people were saying it would be tough and Villarreal are excellent defensively etc

And Chelsea needed to turn around a -2 goal difference while all City need to do is avoid defeat.

Most Emirs don’t really understand numbers
You're not very bright are you?

For the Chelsea game, the game was a matter of avoiding a huge home defeat and Real Madrid were very complacent due to this and weren't at their best for this very reason. In their game against City, they know what they have to do and it will be their biggest European game at the Bernabeu since 2019 imo so the atmosphere will be different and they will be well up for the game.

That's like saying a team like Benfica are better than most PL sides because they managed to get a 3-3 draw at Anfield, without actually understanding the context of the tie and how Liverpool were basically 3-1 up inside the 1st leg.

I still think Real Madrid would perform better in the final if they made it, no pressure for them getting number 14.

their league title is wrapped up so they can field a fully fit team. City and Liverpool will be burnt out.

Uh oh. Struck a nerve have I? Calm down my little friend. City are the better side and also know exactly what they need to do to advance which you also just seem to be ignoring.

If you’d care to make a wager on who advances, I’ll happily take City. Put your money where your mouth is.

Just turned lfctv on, I mean bt sport - ultimate fap fest over the ped Heds.

Apparently we get too hung up over the lines they draw for var and the benefit of the doubt should go to the attacker, because mane was offside!?

They weren’t saying that when Lukaku scored from being inside and var ruled it out in the league cup, the jokers.

Sick to death of the double standards.

City are the better side no doubt but they only have a slender lead to take to the Bernabeu. We saw how much they struggled at Atletico's ground but we are talking about the Bernabeu here and Real Madrid, it's on another level. The home advantage will favour Real Madrid greatly.

What I'm saying here is, football isn't played on paper.

Yeah, mad how they keep getting gifted easy routes to the final....
European football is at its lowest standard for a long while. A team like Villareal or Benfica are probably on par or better than the likes of Barcelona or Juventus, and that goes to tell you everything.

Liverpool had a very had run in 2019 when they won it I'd say. They had Bayern and Barca on their way to the final that year.

The pandemic has killed the mainland clubs hence why all three European competitions will likely be won by English clubs.

If UEFA cared about competition they would be scrapping FFP and inviting investment into clubs to keep things competitive whereas they are only arsed about going cap in hand to the ESL lot desperate to try appease them.

Indeed. And it all depends on the night how good the Ref is to negate the RS aggro tactics

Football goes in cycles, late 70s early 80s English teams won it 6 times on the bounce, when only one club per country were in it. Without checking Im sure Italian and Spanish teams dominated certain periods.
Very true, but during that 8 years (77 to 84) outside the top 4 leagues, the semi finals had teams from Switzerland, Ukraine, Belgium x 2, Sweden, Holland, Portugal, Scotland and Romania.

Compare that to the last 8 years, where outside the top 4 leagues, we have had semi finalists from France x 3 and Holland once.

As I said - predictable. Which is exactly why those clubs have pressured UEFA so much into changing the format of the competition every few years - unpredictability costs money.

I’m sure you’re actually very bright.

You just chat wham deliberately to be a contrarian?

Doubt anyone else is watching but Pumas just got one of the softest penalties you’ll ever see against Seattle in the concacaf champions league final first leg. Seattle been the better side otherwise. Be cool to see an MLS club make the club World Cup if they can come back.
