A decade ago there was Barca Chelsea Madrid Bayern United all at a very good level, even Atletico were up there, Juve pretty close. The CL semis were absolute slog fests with two top teams. They weren’t training exercises.

Now there’s City Liverpool Chelsea and everyone else is a different shade of trash unless Modric and Benzema decide to turn it on.

True, but I don't think United were ever at that level where they just won every game, Barca and Madrid and probably Munich used to win virtually every game in their domestic leagues.

why is that though? is it down to money? If so, daft as it is, we've wasted/spent more than most of Europe over the last few years. Now I'm not saying we should win the CL but the reality is, if spending dough is the answer, we've done that.

Loads on here love it though mate. Hate Everton, love modern football seems to be the order of the day for some on here.

Sadly the other 14 clubs in this league and their fans largely get what they deserve.

Will never see their club compete but its sound long as I can put a cheeky acca on and have a bev watching Citeh vs Liverpool finish 4-4 as they both finish on 95+ points.

No , I think it is getting the right manager and continuity where your team had a backbone over a number of seasons and a winning mentality. Rs and City have nurtured that around great signings.

Didn't PSG start the season as favourites as well? Mbappe, Neymar and Messi were supposed to be unstoppable. They've been absolute trash all season apart from Mbappe.

It doesn't help that Barca are a basket case and them throwing it away is how RS won it in the first place.. Bayern. Juve and PSG just haven't been getting challenged enough domestically and it's weakened them. Juve won 9 in a row, Bayern just won 10 in a row. PSG can't even be bothered trying in France.

Are you for real? Did only one of the teams on the pitch have any empty ground? Surely the empty grounds would affect everyone.

The main anomaly for last season was that a lot of clubs in The Prem had a better away record than they did at home. I'd bet my house that's never happened before.

I just cant worry about potential relegation and "missing out" on finishing 12th making up the numbers in the Premier League when the entire integrity of the sport we grew up loving is in tatters.
