Discussion & help on depression & mental health related issues

Thanks for that. I have the PET scans Tuesday - the magnetic resonance came back all clear so hoping for the best this week.

Not being one for wallowing on self pity, since recent tests show my liver to be in remarkable condition for someone who has dedicated their life, through thick and thin, to taking the temptation of alcohol away from others by drinking it all myself, I told my missus that until I get the all clear, I am drinking as much as I want, as often as I want.

She was cool with that.

Life is good!
Best of luck with your PET scans tomorrow @argietoffee will be thinking of you!

From 1 Irish Blue to another all the best mate praying my rosary for you. ádh mór deartháir

I got some bad news on Thursday. It appears my cancer has spread more than my consultant first thought. My scans had been sent to a specialist hospital for a 2nd opinion and their opinion is that it has got much worse in the 12 months between scans. Also when I mentioned how my body is behaving that seems to indicate a worsening of things. I go and see him in just over a week so hopefully they can at least give me some kind of timescale. They can't do surgery and chemo did no good last time.
Oh Messy, that's not the news you wanted. I don't know what to say other than keep posting on here, there's lots of people rooting for you and if you ever want to vent just message me. Much love x

Evening @argietoffee just checking how are you doing and how did things go with your PET scan?

Also, was your favorite drink?

Hi Sassy I'm feeling a little better with things. I'm away watching cricket today with some of my friends. I hope you are well. I am booked in for an ultrasound which will hopefully help with seeing what's going on with my body. Being in company has helped with my mood.
I'm glad to hear that being around friend has helped with your mood, sometimes those are the little moments that make a difference and can help you regain vigor so you can continue fighting this battle. Enjoy your time away and may your cricket team don't disappoint you as Everton does us at times ;) Sending a big kiss and hug your way ??

Well Sassy, two mins ago found out they are all clear.

Going to beat this, no worries.

With the grace of God, I will have another 50 years of suffering being an Everton fan ahead of me.

Como me dijo un amigo, ahora tenes excusa por mal performance sexual!!!

Beer, wine, rum Sassy. Not aguardiente unfortunately. Being celiac dont help on the beer front.

Soooooooooooooo relieved.

You are very kind. Team doing well so far but the weather could still interfere. However nothing could ever disappoint in the way Everton do!! We are having banter and one of the boys is talking a lot!! I'll keep you updated when I know more from my scans hopefully it will be better news.

Great news mate - best of luck with everything.

Prostate cancer is a swine.

My Grandad got diagnosed but they caught it very early and he lived a full life for another 20 years, post diagnosis with treatement, before he passed of old age.

Hoping for the same and more for you fella.

That's great news, I'm very glad for you and your family. I'm sure it is a big relief.

50 extra years of Everton suffering should at least guarantee you a spot in heaven, unless God is a red ;)

Jejeje con esos amigos para qué enemigos, your wife better don't hear that or there won't be a excuses with her lol

Beer, wine and rum are much better drinks than aguardiente, I still have teenager memories of getting drunk with aguardiente my very first time and just the thought of it makes me nauseous.

Well Argie enjoy tonight's beverage, you deserve it.

Good post NathDogg, I bet your grandad like argietoffee felt like he had won the lottery, glad he was able to get on with his life and hopefully argietoffee will do the same.

Let's hope the weather goddesses stir the bad weather away from you all. Make the most of the time with your mates and please keep me updated about the scans, I really hope you get some good news too.

Absolutley mate - he made sure he lived a full life before the diagnosis and it didn't stop him from packing even more in. We made him go for a check after he was getting up to pee a lot more than normal during the night, so innocuous.

He still got to Goodison and the top balcony with me and my kids until he was 89 yo, and Everton still infuriated him more often than not, but he loved it!

We even had him on holiday on Ibiza at 91 yo, but sadly the dementia was the problem then - the prostate was nothing really, luckily for us, so we did hit the jackpot there, and as you say, hopefully @argietoffee is as lucky.

I tell my mates, if you are going much more or notice anything different when you go for a pee, no matter how trivial it seems, go and get checked out asap, it could save your life.
