Win some lose some with this type of signing I think. Real shame as technically does have some quality but a bit too weak for PL. shame really as if he had either strength OR pave may have been different.

Osman always had the brain for me just not any pace or strength. Give Osman a bit of pace and he’d have been a very good PL midfielder. Years of seeing him on the wing was painful but to be fair to him, from what I remember he was fairly consistent

I hear you. But minimal fee would be what? Around 1m? Thankfully we got him on a free transfer, so that would help with our books.

It was power, presence and strength for me mate, he had the skill, vision, clever player, very underatted for the yards he actually made up facing goal in my opinion. He was naturally a centre midfielder to my mind, but you couldn’t play him there consistently due to his lack of presence and authority. Always thought he thrived in Europe when things were a bit more technical and not as robust as day-day PL games.

Completely agree mate. Just lacked one of the key strengths needed. Technically a good footballer (with that lack of power that you mentioned).

Very true mate, I’d always give him and Hibbert that.

Always found it sad how ended for the two lads and neither went on elsewhere, but I’m sure being millionaires softened the blow. lol

Doubt Hibbo is a millionaire, he was probably only on 5 or 6k and those spools dont buy themselves.

Last I heard of him he’d bought a big throat farm in the South of France, living his dream.

Remember the day Rooney signed his first professional deal with the club, the worlds media going bannnas and poor Hibbo was trotted out as well in an oversized suit for a double signings of new contracts. lol

These Delph type players need getting rid of as they are football cancers at our clubs. Never going to help achieve the Owner's goals. Happy to take losses to get them out asap.

Did actually score more from open play over the last 2 seasons in about a 3rd of the playing time though, also he’s never brought the shame on the club that iceberg has
