I think Sorenson was really poor today, got into some great positions without getting the delivery in. Lehman has done alright since she came on.

Disappointing result but tbf Utd play some really nice football.

SUNDAY 31st JANUARY 2.30PM KO
WOMENS SUPER LEAGUE
EVERTON WOMEN 0 MAN UTD WOMEN 2

Everton come into this game which is only their 2nd Game in 6 weeks due to xmas break, games called off due to weather and others due to virus concerns, hoping to make it 2 wins in a row against none other than 2nd placed man utd who suffered their 1st league defeat in a year a few weeks ago, they are 2nd on GD, that has man utd as 1 defeat in the last 16 league games while Everton have won 8 from last 14 home with 2 draws in that run, in the previous 14 home games before that Everton had 9 defeats and only 3 wins so they have improved a lot, Everton have the 2 new signings Midfielder Jill Scott who was expected to start and forward Alisha Lehmann who was due to be a sub which turned out to be the case, Claire emslie after been out for 2months was back on the bench while Sevecke started her 1st game also in 2 months, Everton would stay 5th whatever the result but are 6 points off 4th with game in hand though Arsenal had their game called off so both teams have equal games played after today, man utd's team had 7 players starting that lost the conti cup game at walton park as well as 3 subs from that conti cup game starting plus Christen Press been involved in either game

It was a very cold day at Walton Park with covers been on the pitch due to overnight frost on the pitch, and it was a good start from Everton pressing high and causing man utd a few early problems, but it was man utd who had the 1st half a chance on 7mins when Christen Press turned inside the box and shot right at the keeper MacIver, but just a minute later man utd did take the lead on 8mins when Ella Toone grabed her sixth of the season after some great work by Galton and Maclver palming the ball away to gift her the perfect opportunity to tap home, on 12mins Maclver saved with her foot after Strong, tenacious play by Christen Press as she forces her way into the box and shoot, on 14mins man utd went close again after Great build up play by Christen Press tries to pull it back for Groenen but it was intercepted at the last otherwise it would've a certain goal, on 35mins again it could have been 2 for man utd when A long ball from left to right and Ella Toone in on goal but her right foot strike was straight at Maclver but a good save none the less, but it did become 2-0 on 42mins when Man utd got a deserved 2nd that looked like comming many times when amercain superstar Christen Press converted expertly after a through ball from Hayley Ladd after Everton failed to clear

There was no subs for either, and Everton finally made the man utd keeper Mary Earps work when she made a excellent save via a Jill Scott shot from around 30 yards, everton for the 1st 15mins to 20mins of the 2nd half were looking so much better, on 73mins Lehmann on her debut had a left footed shot go , when a curler maybe have been better, Everton were not far from getting one back on 85mins when Wold put a cross in that was just missed by the returning Claire Emslie, but Everton played a lot better the 2nd half were i dont think man utd even had a shot but they got the win to make it 1 lost in 17 for them, but Lehmann did well for her debut

Everton's next game comes home v Birmingham next sunday with a 2pm kick off LIVE as always on the FA Player

He does not look or sound happy :(.......
Not surprised if he did it based on the 1st half as we could have been so many behind, 2nd half it was all us but not really causing man utd problems bar a late cross along the area that Emslie couldnt get and an early Jill scott shot from range, but i doubt that man utd have not had a shot the whole half [2nd half] against any team before, or it will be a long time, funny thing is we had same amount of shots but a few less on target but you would not know that if you watched the game without knowing, but anyway next week home to Birmingham is a game Everton should win, then we play away to Reading on the thursday before what should be a 3 week break, though the end of Feb is due to be a cup weekend and with that been delayed it could be used to play one of the games in league called off, like today was as today should have been the cup weekend

As Thought the spurs away game called off due to snow a few weeks ago now has a new date of the 28th Feb 2pm [the cup weekend as predicted], while again the Reading away Game has been moved again this time to sunday 14th Feb 2pm - already gone from the wednesday to thursday to now sunday
