This mega event idea is barmy, bananas. Having several hundred playing staff and at least the same support, catering security etc in close proximity is just daft. It will not be possible to prevent an outbreak. What happens when someone there contracts and dies?

Not mentioning the inevitable swarming of RS hordes on the site to see history etc. Still all about them.

I don't think they necessarily are; one thing the FA make clear is this is a consideration if it is safe to do so.

At some stage when the worst is over there will probably be a situation whereby you can return to work / uni / school etc if you are not showing any symptoms, which will be long before large gatherings such as a full stadium can go ahead.

It will be a strange dystopian world where you walk into anywhere and there is someone taking your temperature around every corner.
No need to do that mate. If everyone does the sensible thing and walks around with a thermometer up their arse at all times and pulls it out for a temp check when requested, I reckon we can beat this thing.

christ are you still here, you do know RAWK would be a better place for you, you could all have the wondrous plans circle jerked in to oblivion. Stop hiding behind the 'when its safe' phrase. We are in a state of national emergency, this country has never ever been in such a critical state, thousands of people are dying, no one knows when restrictions will be lifted, lets face it, the best medical brains in the world are guessing about what this virus will/wont do. You're in RS dreamland if you think that the PL and pro footy will be pacesetters in society getting back to normal. They will be far beyond the queue of proper businesses that actually contribute to society by making stuff and feeding people.

Its a ridiculous idea, lets say a minimum of 40 staff for each team, add in every referee that is currently considered for PL games,TV crews, groundsmen, ambulance crews and police presence in the area, thats a couple of hundred people right away,so the country is getting told they cant visit their parents/kids but the PL can get 100s of people together, then theres contracts, insurance, sponsorships, advertsing revenue, also what about the rest of the football pyramid, you cant tell them tough no promotion/relegation for you serfs

With all due respect - have a read back over my posts instead investing your time in the bile above. You are so far off the mark it's incredible!

I am not hiding behind the "When it's safe" to do so & at no point did I say it's a good idea, the point in my above post is the FA are, the solution is a vague notion of how football might return, no one knows when this will be realistically & I have mentioned on here for quite some time that I think football could be a 8 - 12 months away & there is no way behind close doors will happen in reality (and outlined all the reasons why).

Personally, I don't think the season will be finished but what is clear is there is still clutching at straw attempts to do so, from the FA, the Bundesliga who revealed a similar plan this morning & UEFA who continue to say seasons will be finished (at least they are now talking deadlines).

What I have said here (on the 12th March) - the plan remains to finish the season, this was in the context of a one month break from sport being predicted which clearly isn't the case now. My other main point is that whether the league is voided, finished in delayed capacity or anything else, they will all come with their individual challenges, legal, logistical or timing.

Lockdown will be in place until June, Social distancing will remain in place until October with the 2 metre rule applying to everyone.

The absolute earliest we’ll see football played in stadiums with fans in this country will be November. And that’s the earliest, it could be potentially longer than that!

This is like those people predicting a scoreline, scorers, method by which the goals will be scored and time of goals on the match threads.

And victim FC will be at the head of the queue.

Wimbledon, due to take place 29th June- 12th July, has been cancelled. No thoughts of playing behind closed doors or quarantine of participants ( which I would think would be smaller numbers than 20 football teams). Football authorities, football media etc are making themselves look like complete numpties in all of this
