No one knows how long this will go on.

The problem with this is both Leeds and West Brom (and anyone else chasing promotion) could turn around and say they’ve played 37 games, undertaken a gruelling campaign, spent a lot of money etc and are going to get nothing from it. Meanwhile Norwich have had 29 games, reaped a load of TV money despite being abject and will basically get a free pass to stay in the top flight next year meaning they get even more money and a season in the lucrative top flight which frankly they don’t deserve. Honestly that doesn’t seem fair and to me and I think the leagues feel the same way- hence why there’s talk of having a 22 team premier league season. We’re not talking about postponing/cancelling leagues after a handful of games; the seasons are all less then ten games away from finishing which I think is making a difference in everyone’s thinking.

But I guess really what it boils down to is that a global pandemic doesn’t really care about what’s fair. Just have to do the sensible thing.

Its not fair to those teams, no, but it's more fair to do that than it is to reward/punish teams that have not mathematically won/lost. If it resets, it resets for everyone.

And as far as that particular example goes, Leeds and West Brom may have had a gruelling season, but I'm sure Leeds were running away with it last time before crumbling late on and losing in the play offs. The same thing could easily happen again to both teams with 9 games to go. No guarantees at all.

If we have had to put up with them coming back against AC Milan or Barcelona, then you can forget it if you think they can be awarded something because they are 'so far ahead' or probably 'would have won it'.

You appear incredibly confident that this will all blow over in a month or two, do you have inside info on the virus? You could be correct, but this season will surely be cancelled if the remaining games aren’t completed by end of June, as it’ll be too close to the start of next season.

But listening to SSN earlier & that article in the telegraph makes me believe early plans have already started to be drawn up as they aint stupid they'll know its very likely to be off.

Yes. The only way to avoid it is to void everything. That may stop legal proceedings

As was pointed out earlier voiding the season and citing force majure would stop all legal action

I read that and it's a bit extreme isn't it.

What i don't understand is, why can't they? when all off the players have come out of isolation, reschedule the fixtures behind closed doors.

Why does anything need to be voided? Does June and July not exist to the premier league? Given that Euro 2020 is likely too be canned the players will be available anyway.

Because the players come out of isolation and another 4 or 5 teams get a scare and go into isolation and it all continues again

I have no faith in the corrupt league to do the sensible thing.

They'll want an easy a time as possible and be seen as being reasonable.

Anyone seriously holding out these next 1-2 months for them to be denied the title will be in for disappointment.

I and most made their peace with it months ago - dont fall into having faith again.
