If Maguire touches it as he did doesn't that mean that siggy is played inside. Just heard a lad onnth radio ask that. Any refs on here know the rule?
Defo goal.anyway. Dr gea gets wrong footed by Maguire's deflection never mind siggy being there

Supposedly the decision isn't made from the deflection off Maguire, it starts from our player hitting the ball, so Sigurdsson is offside.

Back form the game

Wow what an absolute disgrace at the end. Couldn't believe it when they showed the replay 2 minutes later. When it went in I said to my lad and those around me "doesn't matter if they kick off, no way is that getting chalked off as he was t interfering with play"

Things about the game

Pickford awful again with that goal. Made amends with a superb double save but these mistakes are costing us massively.

Baines was excellent.

Davies really put a great shift in 2nd half

Gylfi really should have buried that chance a few seconds before the disallowed goal.

DCL was absolutely fantastic. Won every single header and I think he gave the ball away once all game.

Another game though where we've dropped points, 1 point from 6 against the teams where I felt we had to have got at least 4 points as Chelsea away and the rs at home will be tougher.

Nothing but 2 wins now is needed

Ultimately he’s offside and is in direct line of the shot (even moving his leg out of the way), so by the letter of the law it’s the correct decision.

The annoying thing is if Gylfi wasn’t there that still goes in.

It’s one of those incredibly unlucky calls in football, that ultimately is correct.
Technically incorrect

dcl shot was off target so when it hits maguire then maguire is playing him onside and its an own goal

Hi mate how are you feeling? I notice you only posted once yesterday about how bad Lovren is. Strange.

Calming down now after that. Sigurdsson should have scored initially and then that would have been avoided.

The goal should have stood. Line of sight rule means degea can't see the ball. With sigs on the floor he could clearly see the ball and Calvert lewin.

But you're right, how sigs misses the chance in the first place I'll never know. Can he not just put his foot through the ball instead of trying to sidefoot every chance that falls to him?
