At the very least he is a proper pain in the arse for defenders and occasionally shows some good touches and finishes to go with his athleticism. He'll improve and will be a good understudy to whoever we bring in in the summer.

So he needs to be playing for a top 6 team to get a decent finishing percentage of his chances? He is a poor finisher, even some of his goals he has scored have been average shots or got a helpful nick of another player, he’s simply not clinical, even for a young player

Don't think it will come good for him. Finishing is one of those abilities you either have or you don't. Everything suggests he's in the latter category. As ever, hope I'm wrong, but just can't see it.

Wrong - some do have that natural instinct i.e. Lukaku but its still something that can be worked on. Im not its his finishing that needs work, its his composure - he needs to learn to calm down and not rush etc when he's on goal.

Regardless of DCLs improvement he is still missing the crucial part of taking chances. We cannot go into next season with him leading the line or it will hurt us badly. He is one to put on the back burner and hope he adds to what is already a significant improvement. One to keep no doubt about it and fingers crossed he becomes more instinctive. If he can start putting the ball in the net more often then we will have a cracking all round player.

Fair assessment, still room to improve further, which he is.
