He’s had less than 10 league games. Imagine what we might look like after a full season or two and a couple of transfer windows. Hugely positive signs. If he can break the top 6 away hoodoo over the next few weeks then we could be looking at a serious manager here. Tbh it’s just good to see good recruitment for once. After the last few seasons to have a transfer window where every single signing has come in and immediately made the first team and is playing well is brilliant. Contrast to the situation last season where 30 mill signings sat on the bench and kids were taking their spots.

Tbf, I thought he left Bernard on way too long and we should have had Lookman on earlier and also Tosun on earlier to take responsibility off Richarlison to lead the line.

Maybe we left it later than we need to have in order to get that match won?

Aye possibly.

I think Tosun could have come on 5 minutes earlier, when we were on top but just missing a bit of a goal threat.

That being said, Bernard had been getting more involved in the play during that period so it was a balancing act of whether to get him off or see if he could craft an opening.

Think this is right for the Huddersfield game (I missed West Ham as was on holiday). But against Fulham and palace I felt it was just a matter of time before we got a goal.

Some games ya think you could play for another 3 hours and not score, yesterday I felt it was coming but time was running out.

In contrast to Martinez v2 and v3 we seem to be doing most of our passing in the opposition final third as opposed to across our own back four.

When we had to go backwards yesterday the crowd kept onside as we kept momentum and pushing forwards.
Thing is in both the Fulham and Palace games we could easily have been two down, riding our luck a bit at the moment, but the signs are encouraging.

A lot stemmed from the combination of Gana and Gomes rather than seeing Davies or Schniederlin out there.
It may seems harsh, but I really think this had an impact on the support.
Like we're all willing this on into a new era and that was never going to manifest while they were there.
I hope for Davies sake that Silva brings him on in the right game at the right moment, knowing he will make a positive contribution..
As for Scneiderlin, I think he needs to go in January, letting the fresh winds contniue to blow through Goodison - enter Barrios...hopefully.

Silva did well with the substitution in terms of statement of purpose - we are a team which is going to go for it...we believe in ourselves. A good marker to lay down.

But at this point I'm not convinced how much of all this is Silva and how much of this he owes to Brands and his players.
But I'm quietly confident Silva, Brands and the players together will make it happen.

Its been mentioned already, about how much less the team is just content to play round the back.
It was great to see when Gomes did play sideways or back he was still being cheered on, that its great to have you on board, in the knowledge that it was the right option, that its not all we're going to see from you. Its was poignant moments - the crowd applauding passes from a midfielder to a centre back

That's the lot of the football manager isn't it? Win games and you're the messiah, lose them and you're a no hoper. Luck plays a big part in sport, but hopefully we're building confidence and slowly gelling as a team as the new boys bed in. It would be great to get a result in one of the away games coming up. That would really kick things on. The Arsenal game showed we had it in us, but that clinical edge was missing. I'm still not sure it's there, and with such a young team I'm not sure the players have the wherewithall to change things themselves on the pitch, but hopefully that will come in time.

NNNOOO, the world will end if Davek turns a corner, imagine him being nice and jolly he is the GOT version of The Grinch.

well something is going on because ive pretty much (bar pickford comments) agreed with everything he has said today, and someone else posted something and I was shocked when underneath it said "you and davek like this"

amazing what a bit of good togger and a few wins can do to people haha

And we could have blown away Bournemouth Wolves and Arsenal with better luck. Works both ways. On the balance of things the last couple of weeks may have evened our an unlucky start where everything that could have gone against Silva did.

Agree to an extent, but in the Wolves/Bournemouth games less to do with luck, more like shot ourselves in the foot.:-)

Seen enough of Bernard to understand he's not going to cut it here as a winger.

Clever player, like. I feel he'd be better inside somewhere. He has a great ability to gather the ball very quickly and control it. He can go by a player but then he'll struggle to go by another. I would defo keep him off the wing and stick Richarlison back over there. Digne is doing a hell of a job: first covering for Baines, now for Bernard. Richarlison back on the left will allow Digne to get a breather and also find a position advanced enough to swing those corker crossers in.

Bernard could be our David Silva...if we ever get a chance to play someone so freely.
