He certainly wont have to plait sawdust with a team that couldn't play football to feet before he arrived. Martinez taught them in one summer how to play and that lesson stuck - with players and fans. This club's fans have professed themselves to "want to play the right way" only since Moyes left. There was no appetite for that from the majority while he was here, that's for sure. That's called "legacy".
absolute revision of history that....so before brownshoes it was exclusively "hoofball" ? Bollocks - we did play some good attacking football at times and although I would say that moyes overstayed his tenure he actually left us with a reasonably sound defence which your hero proceeded to ignore in his last 2 seasons at the expense of 50 or so passes to the half way line and back to the keeper. A small footnote in EFC's history despite his 72 points winning feck all in the process......got your Jason Derelou tickets yet? Sure Bobby can throw a few shapes at you. lollollol

Absolute wham.
Moyes performed miracles on the budget at the time.
Martinez simply benefitted from inheriting a well drilled and organised side , that he added Lukaku to.
Then once his methods bedded in , our demise commenced.
Remember Moyes got us top 4 , on peanuts.

I notice that you have conveniently ignored the points re the top 4 , and also our subsequent demise under El Fraudo , fella.
The point that you have highlighted re well drilled / organised cannot be taken away from Moyes - have you forgotten what our defending of set pieces degenerated into under Martinez ?
Sometimes I think that you post things simply for effect.o_O

That's right Dave but as youve been told in hundreds of replies couldn't organize a defence or goalkeeper.
