Booing

Forum members of a certain age will remember going 0-2 down to Sheffield Wed at Wembley and the same v Wimbledon at Goodison.Just thankful that our present 'support' wasn't at those games.

I think that’s a bit harsh on today’s supporters. Many of the fans shouting abuse at the players, myself included, do indeed remember going 2-0 down to SW. The difference is that we used to compete, in all competitions, and now we don’t.......

Harsh? Do they honestly think that being abused is going to make players up their game? More likely hide or phone their agent to look for a move.See a certain Mr R Barkley.

Poor little darlings...feel so sorry for them crying while earning more per year than most of us do in a lifetime.....lot of them dont give a monkeys about the fans anyway

Always annoys the hell out of me over the years mainly at away games, we'd have put in a totally abject performance and lost heavily, you'd be storming out with a big cob on and there'd be people applauding these fellas in the royal blue who'd let us down.;)lol

All very true, but we really.want better performance levels from them which.booing is not likely to achieve.

So he wanted to leave because he was booed?!

I’m really sure it was more to do with money for him and his agent.

Fairly sure Everton regressing and his career stalling played a part as well... not to mention the chance to play for a team who actually wins things and competes in the champions league. Im sure money will have played a factor as well but ultimately im sure he's done what most normal people would do... weigh up positives and negatives of a potential move and then realise there are no positives for staying at Everton beyond it being his boyhood club, and if thats the only reason to stay somewhere then it's probably best to leave.

Like to think we were booing to show displeasure at the fact that West Brom had us all over the shop and could of scored 3-4 on another day. As the home side we are expected to be on the front foot taking the game to the opposition, instead we got Rondon getting the freedom of Goodison and the only player with enough balls to decide to tackle him suffering a horrendous injury whilst the rest of our cowards looked on.

So yes boo fcking louder next time. Might get through to Sam that we aren't some no mark club happy just to make up the numbers.

I agree, I just wanted to point out that I don’t think he left because of the booing.

Booing players does nothing in my opinion. They are professionals and more aware than anyone else on the pitch of when they are underperforming and what needs to be done to correct it. Booing is only likely to aggravate things, not solve them.

The other massive difference between that 1966 team , the 69-70 team, those 1980’s team and this shower/and the management we are lumbered with today is without exception all of those teams played with passion and pride in the shirt! You could probably count on one hand the players currently playing (specifically not including Seamus!) who show even half the pride or passion of some of those teams!
If some of them even showed they care they wouldn’t get half the grief they are getting!
