Booing

I noticed that many supporters actually booed our players during the match today, with some even going as far as to shout abuse at them.

The journalist who interviewed Sam after the match also picked up on this development. He asked Sam about it and Sam said the following:

“I have no problem with them booing us, as they deserved booing. The players should listen to that, as I do.”

Is such behaviour from supporters productive, or is it futile? Does it make our players perform better, or does it play into the hands of the opposition? It's a difficult one.
The majority of them deserved it. I can't remember the last time I felt so bored and miserable at an Everton match.

Also, the vast majority of the team do not give a toss about the shirt. The whole idea of playing for the shirt needs to die. If you're going to play for something, play to win and play for the fans who've paid to see you, but the whole playing for the shirt thing is too sentimental. In the old days, most of the squad were from Liverpool, were they not? Boyhood Everton supporters? Players weren't club hopping as much as they do now. Why would the shirt mean anything to Schneiderlin, Williams or Martina? And even being a boyhood fan and/or an Academy player doesn't mean squat these days, right, Ross?

I will always say.

We take the piss out of the kopites for their cringy fan base yet at least their team have a bit of passion and get behind their team. We boo our team every week, don't sing , don't produce an atmosphere and moan about everything. And the team doesnt perform, funny that
That's because Liverpool are actually a good team.

Booing only ever happened very occasionally under Moyes, we felt a connection to the team and we knew what the game plan was and style of football we aimed to play.

The most I felt our fans, players and management staff were connected was during the first Martinez season. I just felt we all could see a vision how we wanted to play it was fresh and new we all got on board I don’t even remember leaving a game thinking they haven’tpur a shift in.

Since then it’s been hell, full on hell.

We could see a plan but it wasn’t flawed. Now I can’t see any plan and it’s worrying.

Harsh? Do they honestly think that being abused is going to make players up their game? More likely hide or phone their agent to look for a move.See a certain Mr R Barkley.

The rat didn’t leave because he got boo’d, he wanted money, lots of it.....if they don’t want to be here they can bugger off....
