Confirmed Signing Cenk Tosun

Klaassen, if you actually looked into him at all was an enigma for ajax. A player who literally was not involved in anything their team did whatsoever. He touched the ball less than every other player, he is doing the same thing here to be honest.[\QUOTE]

Klaassen scored 14 goals and had 9 assists in his 33 league appearances last term. He was their captain. Hardly a player who was involved in nothing the team did like you say, a strange statement to make.

The fact is, he’s struggled to adapt to the time physicality and speed of the league like many before him.

Hope Tosun will be better but it’s naive to pretend the league he comes from makes no difference.

What you'll get
+ Quality finishing... 90-95% goal rate for sitters
+ Smart off the ball movement/runs/one-twos... (of course when he starts to adapt to his new team style/mates).
+ Getting physical against defenders... never avoids contact.
+ Above average headers
+ A penalty shooter who doesn't miss

What you won't get
- Incredible pace & dribble
- Incredible crossing
- chance creator by himself

Why are we, as a fanbase, so dead set on writing off any potential new signings before they've even kicked a ball? It's proper weird behavior that.

Agree. With all due respect ,all of those who write off a player who has never kicked a ball for the club or who are going by you tube clips cannot have all brain cells working to anywhere near full capacity. So i really dont read their posts. Its just better that way.

I was so guilty of this with Tim Cahill. Learnt my lesson and will give any player a chance.

I am at the point were I couldn't care who we sign as long as he is a centre forward. Giroud would be my choice but it doesn't look likely.
We are now in Fat Sam Land, he will buy a big unit, stick him up front and lump balls up to him. This is the path we have chosen for ourselves. School of Science closed for renovations.

We, as a fan-base aren't mate. You are making the mistake of taking the postings on GOT as representative of our fan-base, which it is not.
It IS representative of internet forums which always have more than their fair share of trolls, WUMs and their hangers on.
I love GOT, but you need to take EVERYTHING on here with more than a little pinch of salt.

I'd hazard a guess that the 'school of science' we allege to play to' has been closed for nearly 30 years.......not just recently. We are what we are, some people thing we're something we're plainly not and haven't been for a very long time.

Check some on here turning their nose up at a striker.

Id drag most in of the street to be honest.

Even an average striker with a 1 in 2 ratio could be the difference between 10 and Europe. Not to mention the fact he will be playing with Rooney and Sigurdsson, two of the best providers consistently in the league.
