2017/18 Morgan Schneiderlin

It was a numb nuts second challenge and he deserved the card. Aguero made the most of it but was defo clipped...and from behind. There will be no rescinding of that second yellow, and rightly so.

As others have said, btw, Schneiderlin has been off the pace so far and he'll be no big miss (he didn't turn up against quality teams last season anyway, so we'll not notice the difference against Chelsea).

I wonder about him and the soft tissue injuries too. I reckon he limped his way to the end of last season and he'll suffer these types of injuries again.

Don't often agree with you Davek, but this is spot on.

I have seen a few people say this...

The fact it was a good tackle is completely irrelevant. He got sent off for it. Everyone could see it coming and the best way to avoid it is not to put yourself in that position. Have someone else take the bullet if it needs to be done.

Just to clarify, I think it was a good tackle, it was a rubbish booking, the refs these days are awful and the game is screwed if stuff like that results in a booking. But that is the footballing world Everton are playing in and you have to play the game smarter in my opinion. All comes down to mentality again for me, its where we have struggled for years and what separates the good sides from the top ones.

How can you say it was a good tackle when he got him studs up before collecting the ball?

He needed to make the challenge.

They had a break on and Aguero had room to run into, with Sterling and De Bruyne in support.

Maybe it was reckless to go in so full hearted, but it was an excellent tackle.

Aguero turned into the challenge which is the reason he was caught. It was an awful decision from a ref who was poor for both sides all night.
