Nobody knows jack
But whatever happens there'll be somebody fuming at it and another somebody fuming at them for fuming.

my own predictions are the term 'The Dutch Moyes' will get used a lot...probably by me and I will slowly morph into @davek-lite

He's taken the spending on players to about £140m now with probably a total summer spend of £160m/£170m (and about £230m spend for the 12 months or so he's been here).

That demands results.

Cup in the cabinet or PL football are the targets now.

No excuses.

Absolutely. Backed, significantly, with players he wanted/was happy with.

The only compromise I'd make in those targets not being met would be if we finished fifth and just a couple of points off taking a CL spot.

But he's been the beneficiary of a bumper windfall from sales the likes no other Everton manager has ever seen, so that has to have a demand for success that comes with it.

'Bumper windfall from sales' in a market where buying anyone half decent also demands bumper fees. It's all relative.

People are really underestimating what having the spine of your attack removed in one window can do to a team.

For me, top seven is still the minimum aim this season. It's premature to talk of 5th as a minimum target.

Next season, he has to show that level of progress, but not this season. Martinez got another season after being a disaster in his second, so I'm not sure why Koeman wouldn't be given the same opportunity by not being a disaster.

Because he's spent 500 billion pounds or something.

I expect us to be 7th again really, but hopefully a "good" 7th where we are in touch with the teams above us and challenging for 4th for most of the season but just lose out ; as opposed to a "bad" 7th where we are sitting lower in the table for most of the season but a couple of late good results clinch 7th near the end of the season.

There's just been too much change, or "rebuilding" done this summer to realisticly expect instant results. Obviously success in a cup would be the best result and most likely i'd say.

We shouldn't have given Martinez another season, he should have been gone. So he just effectively treads water after spending that much money and that's okay?

7th again , couple of good cup runs.
To many players in to knit together to expect instant success.
Anything above that will depends on who we get up front and the quality of the centre back we get in.
