Thanks for that - had to admit l was struggling with the two full backs. Was also sure that Hurst scored but looking back l was stood near the bottom of the old Blackpool Kop and could barely see over the wall. Spent half my time watching the shenanigans of the travelling Blue hordes

A rainy Saturday 28th March, 1970.
Everton vs Chelsea.
Well over 50,000 in GP that day.
Blues lined up:
Gordon West
Tommy Wright Roger Kenyon Sandy Brown
Howard Kendall Alan Ball Colin Harvey
Johnny Morrissey Joe Royle John Hurst Alan Whittle

Straight from the kick off, the Blues took just 14 seconds to open the scoring, Howard Kendall on the mark before Chelsea touched the ball.
Bally made it 2-0 inside four minutes and Joe Royle added a third shortly before half time.
Big Joe added a second inside three minutes of the restart and Alan Whittle made it a nap hand 5-0 before the hour.
The Blues eased up and Chelsea claimed two consolation goals as it ended 5-2.

Got soaked to the skin and loved every single second of it - happy, happy, happy days ;););););)
2 days after I was born that.

2006, spring, Everton 0-1 Spurs. Got it as a gift when I was 10 from my dad.

Recall Wright, Naysmith, Beattie, Cahill, baldman Carsley and Yobo playing. Rest can't remember but proabably the likes of Stubbs and Neville played.

Sheffield United v Everton, December 1993. Aged 5.

AWFUL game in a freezing Bramall Lane. The only game I've ever been to that wasn't seated, the stadium was terraces back then.

and mostly downhill from there

*make of that what you will
We won the league the year I was born. It was meant to be. There was never any doubt. We deserve each other. I was always going to be this miserable no matter what.

Mesmerised by the first sight of the dazzling green from the upper bullens.

Roger Kenyon

Goals from Roger Kenyon and one of the very few scored by Rod Belfitt!!

Unofficially - it would be around 1967-8 I guess but my old man has passed on so it's impossible to verify. I think I may have gone to a 1-0 home defeat 1970-1 against Dirty Leeds (because I remember having the programme for years). 1970-1 was the European Cup and I remember being allowed to stay up to watch the highlights (was it the BMG tie?). Anyway the first game I can tell you, hand on heart, I went to was a 2-2 draw at Burnley, Jan 1971

I'd guess the team to be: Rankin (I think Gordon was dropped in this season)
Wright, Brown (or K Newton?), Hurst, Kenyon (Brian Labone was probably injured),
Kendall, Ball, Harvey,
Royle, Morrissey, Johnson

Definitely know Johnson played.. he scored.

Checks Everton Results:

Rankin
Wright, Labone, Hurst, H Newton (bizarre)!
Holy Trinity
Johnson Morrissey Husband

so.. 8 out of 11 - Martin Dobbo scored for Burnley (I think that we were winning 2-1) who also included Nulty and Dave Thomas in their line-up it says.
