My first match, 1966 night game at Goodison, Brazil versus Portugal, my dad didnt usef to take to to the games bakc then as i was only 8 and he used to have a bevvie after the game, but he made an exception for this one as he said that if i live to be 100 years old, i'll never see the two players (Pele and Eusabio) equalled! Although i became a massive fan of Cruyff, i cant argue with his sentiments! So he blagged me in via the turnstiles, and i got to see Pele, Jairzinho (still my favourite player from that team) Denilson and Santos, and of course Eusabio, possibly the most elegant player i ever saw :). I couldnt even tell you who my first Everton match was againt, i am ashamed to say :(
Pele got kicked all over the park that night.Lucky to see some of the best games at Goodison. The Korea v Portugal and the Hungary game really stood out.

I can, but only because I looked it up a little while ago

My first match was Everton vs Leyton Orient in the 2nd round, 2nd leg of The Littlewoods Cup, Tuesday 3rd October 1989

Neville Southall
Ian Snodin
Dave Watson
Kevin Ratcliffe
Neil McDonald
Pat Nevin
Norman Whiteside
Stuart McCall
Kevin Sheedy
Graeme Sharp
Mike Newell

Had to look it up slightly as couldn't be sure, but we have a song that includes most of the players anyway.

November 9th, 1985 (my 8th birthday). Being from a family of RS, my uncle took me as a birthday surprise. Went into the dressing room before the game. Sheedy doing keep ups against the white walls, and meeting Gary Lineker outside the changes for a chat - he got presented with some small award from memory.

Anyway - we beat Arsenal 6-1 and Lineker got 2, Sharp & Trevor Steven (favourite player until Lineker at that time). On looking it up it turns out that Inchy got the other 2 - but I don't remember them.

I thought all games were like that at the time. I think we beat Southampton by the same score a few weeks later.

If only I knew.............

Can you?
Good god Groucho did you not start going the game until you were 30?. Apologies mate but I always assumed you were older than me.

Short answer is no. It was in the 73/74 season. I remember Lawson was in goal and Lyons, Kenyon and Harvey all played. Think Latchford may have been up front but wouldn't swear to it. Cant even remember who we played. Crap aren't I.
