I'd probably wait to see if his leg works before giving him a new deal, it's a nice gesture though, will no doubt give the lad a boost, using it as a stick to beat lukaku with is frankly weird

What Seamus and Morgan have realised is that getting UCL with Everton can be done if the board put their money were their mouth is.

Genuine question.
Without Googling, name one top balls player who came back not a top balls player after breaking his leg. If possible, he in question must have played the game in the last...say... 15 years - when medical science / sports science was really ramped us with Doctors/Experts employed within football clubs.

That's why the club is so proud of and so active in EITC
It's not always about the money.
It's the impression the club makes on the outside world and players from Britain and abroad.

A contract until he's 33.

Too long. We don't even know if he'll fully recover from his injury. I think the club have this wrong, I'd have gone with a year contract with an automatic 2 years extension if he plays a certain amount of games.

Just how bad do you think he could be when he comes back? Completely unsellable? Because if he can't cut it, the club will sell him, if he has no contract, he'll just walk.
Either way, he deserves the contract, if anything, it takes the stress of his future away and can only help his recovery.
