I'd probably wait to see if his leg works before giving him a new deal, it's a nice gesture though, will no doubt give the lad a boost, using it as a stick to beat lukaku with is frankly weird

Delighted for Seamus, what a boost that must have given him, well done to our fantastic club, there's hardly a month goes by were they don't make me beam with pride over something or other they do.

Loyalty works both ways, we can't have a pop at players who don't want to play for us then cast out the ones who do if they ever get injured. I think it's a great gesture that the injury hasn't altered Everton's commitment to him. Hopefully he's back soon and we have 5 years of a top full back.

Though I'm delighted to hear this, and he'd be the first name on my team sheet, I don't think a great deal of brain was involved with the timing.
We're going to need cover over the summer and into autumn, and thus kind of commitment I'd surely going to deter any quality signing which might have hopes of making the spot for themselves. This is one deal that would have been better done behind closed doors.
